If there?s a german who got a good Chance, that he gets drafted, I just gotta open a Thread on him.

A buddy of mine used to play with him, some years ago.

I?ve read some Scoutingreports on him, he seems to be labled a Develpmental Pick, but he turned some heads at the Shrine Game and his Pro Day, and is rising fast. Great Size, and good #s at his Proday. Vollmer turned times of 5.13 and 5.16 in the 40-yard dash with a 36 1/2-inch vertical and a 9-foot, 3-inch broad jump. He had a 4.50 short shuttle and a 7.51 three-cone time, with 32 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press.

I googled him up, he played LT in college but played RT at the Shrine game and did well there. As a development player he could be ready to take over for Damien Woody when he gets too old in a few years, but the problem is that Vollmer's specialty seems to be using his quickness against pass rushers, so he would sort of be redundant with D'brick on the team. But still a quality prospect, his vertical leap was better than any of the OT combine invites, vertical leap is supposed to indicate first step quickness.

We were extremely impressed with Vollmer at the Shrine Game, so much so that we made an HD video profile of his draft prospects. He definitely has the feet, size, and strength to stay at left tackle.

    EDIT: no link for you

Kiper has him rated as the 15th rated OT in the draft. Says he's huge with good feet but just average as a run blocker. Projects him going in the 5th or 6th.
