Did anyone get a Playoff invoice this year? I never got one and just want to see if the JETS sent one out this year...
Yes. That's why I was asking.... They always make us send it in and collect interest while they hold the funds til next year. I think since so many fans opted out, it would be too messy (and expensive) to send the money back to the fans. Wow, they sound cheap don't they?
NOPE didnt get one. They could actually host the AFC championship game if they get the 5th seed. Im shocked Woody hasnt asked for the money to hold on to it for the interest.
I was wondering about that too, since they can theoretically get the AFC Championship. If the Jets get in the playoffs with the 5 seed, expect to see a bill for the title game.
Prob has to do with the new stadium with so many people dumping seats they would have to give lots of refunds
I called the jets weeks ago, they told me because they couldn't host a playoff game they didn't print tickets. It is now mathematically possible that they could be wrong (if we are the 5 seed and host the 6 seed in the afc championship).
Nope, it would take a damn miracle to host a playoff game. I'm sure they're on the way now though, just in case. The only way would be if we're the 5th seed hosting the 6th seed.
After next week they would still have three weeks to get them out if it is a possibility. The printing and postage costs might factor in if they feel it's going to be a waste.
My thoughts are they will send them if the possibilty exits. But they have to know that 85% of the STHers will reluctantly send in their check and immediately demand it back again by checking off "refund," should the Jets fall short. I, for one (and I'm sure many others feel the same way), will not allow Woody to hold any more of my money than he already does (that being $500 per Upper Deck Seat X 4 = $2,000), so any funds sent in toward "playoffs" this year will, I'm sure, be requested back again by most. That's a lot of paperwork and man hours to implement, so I'm sure "El Cheapo" has already figured that out.
Okay, so under what scenario would we host a game at the Meadowlands? The AFC Championship, even though we'd be 5th seed going in (assuming we win on Sunday night)? If I get an invoice I will send in the money, but I'm sure as hell not letting Woody hold any more of my money than I have to, so I'll send it in checking off the box for a refund and NOT applying it to May's invoice. They're already holding $2,000 (4 seats X $500) for 2010.
If we win and get the 5-seed, theoretically us and the 6-seed could both win the first two rounds, setting up the AFC Championship Game at the home of the higher seed, us. It's never happened that way, and New England, then Indy and San Diego would all have to lose at home for that to happen.
Okay, gotcha. Thanks fallas. Yes, we'd have to be playing the 6th seed, probably the Ravens? I don't see all 3 of those earlier seeds losing, but it's been a crazy ride so I guess anything's possible.
