Seahawks fire Mora To soon in my opinion. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/01/08/seahawks-fire-jim-mora/
I think they are really high on some other guy (Frazier maybe?) and they want to be able to get him before he signs with another team. Firing someone after one year is a bit fast but I don't like Mora as a coach so I think they made the right move.
Bit of a suprise. I am guessing Mora won't see any head coaching offers for some time, if ever again.
meh, he wasn't so bad that he deserved to get canned after 1 season. I don't see someone like Frazier coming in and making an immediate impact(although I like him as a coach), they have tons of personnel problems to fix, I doubt ANY coach will be successful there next season
Actually ESPN Chris Mortensen reporting that Pete Carroll is the front runner for the job. Leslie Frazier turned them down because he felt they just wanted to interview him as a courtesy to satisfy the Roony Rule.
so does anyone else think that the allegations against USC are going to get huge soon? OJ Mayo things just happened... Joe McKnight declared for the draft, albeit wanting to stay for a senior year. Afraid of getting suspended? Pete Carroll, a USC-god is in the names to take over Seattle HC job. Hmmm
Must be something like that. Otherwise, Pete Carroll would fail the intelligence test before getting the job. Even is he's offer three times the money, he'll have to start working for a living. That would suck.
Bingo. Plus, I think he's always wanted to prove that he's not a washout in the NFL, and this gives him another chance.
My gut's telling me that this talk really has something to it. USC's about to get something for what they've been doing, and Pete Carroll has played it off for as long as he can. Plus, what's the worst thing that could happen if he doesn't succeed in Seattle? Take all that money from the NFL, go back to college and get just about any job in the nation? Oh no, how horrible.
I didn't like having Mora as the coach in waiting for them and he couldn't do anything with the team so this makes a lot of sense to me. Lol at Frazier turning down their offer for an interview. Carrol is not long for USC anymore. He can get his third chance in the NFL and if he fizzles out he'll have his pick of any open college job in the nation. I've been against Carrol leaving USC but after the Joe McKnight incident I doubt the school will be able to skirt around the NCAA rules anymore. USC is likely to vacate some bowl wins and appearances so it would be best for Carrol to bail now.
