http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/sub/mockdraft.html One thing is certain, we won't be drafting this problem child................he's off the Jet's board. Got take these mocks with a grain of salt, fun to look at, but not very relevant in early Feb. If Patrick Willis would fall to the Jets at 25, I'd be thrilled. I can't understand why he's falling in alot of mocks......on my board he's in the 14-18 range. Props to Moss.......up to 15, it doesn't surprise me, should have an excellent combine.
I really don't like the Irons pick in round 2. From what I've seen he runs bigger than he is, but if the Jets draft an RB, I want a real bruiser.
I would say a few grains of salt! If the board fell that way, I think it's safe to say we would go: 25: Anthony Spencer/Patrick Willis 38: Justin Blalock 57: Ikaika Alama-Francis/BPA DT
switching 2a) and 2b) is more likely. and I dunno if Id take Sears that early but G is something we need.
Tyler's more likely to go in the 3rd round than the 1st round. And Woodley in the 3rd is quite humorous...
rofl i didnt even look through it that much after a bit. most of these guys dunno what theyre talking about.
Wouldn't mind those pics at all. But we're going to need to get a Nose Tackle and a quality CB as well (especially if Justin Miller doesn't pick up now). I can see us drafting an RB in the middle of the draft.... a guy I really like is Brandon Jackson from Nebraska
His mocks are usually the closest of anyones. I don't agree with his picks for us and he usually puts need at the top of his list for teams. But the players are usually taken in the same area of the draft he has them listed in.
Tyler is a 1st round pick on most mock sites, and he's the 4th best DT in my book (Branch, Okoye, Pitcock, Tyler). He's not the pick I'd make there, but he's an option. Why is Woodley in the 3rd funny? He looked like a UD rookie in the Senior Bowls, and was by far the biggest disappointment there, being eaten alive by most OT's in practice and the game (most notably Levi Brown). Woodley in the 3rd is not only a possibility, but he's definitely on the 2nd/3rd round border right now.
My picks would be: 1. OG Ben Grubbs All the top 3-4 talent is gone, and he has fantastic upside. Our RG spot is weak with Moore and Kendall is getting over the hill. 2a. DE/OLB Anthony Spencer, Purdue - There's a solid 3-4 DE/OLB option, allowing Hobson to move to a more natural inside spot. 2b. HB Tony Hunt, Penn State - Perfect bruising back to compliment Leon Washington, and is also all around being a great blocker and receiver. This guy is very fast and agile for his size, and is not coming off of major injury like a similar back still on the board - Michael Bush.
It's also February, his mocks are the most accurate of all in late April before the drafts. Once the combine goes through, he'll get a much more accurate positioning of players.
I would take these early mocks by the better writers as moving estimates of the general area a player is expected to be chosen in, nothing more. I think his mock last year right before the draft was pretty good. The lesser, random guy mocks you can find around the net are often terrible and illogical.
Wow, I would hate everything about those first two rounds if thats how it went down. And if Anthony Spencer is available with our first second or first round pick, he's a Jet. In a dream world, Quentin Moses falls to us in the first.
It really warms my heart toward this site how many here are still wanting to draft for the OL after picking two OL in the 1st rd last draft. The Jets two 1st rd picks last year stunned me (in a good way) and drew my interest (esp in Mangini). I'd really like to see one of the better OG go to the Jets this draft. I think it will make a huge difference and maybe the "skill player" lovers of the world will come around.
This draft is pretty deep at OG, and I think we can get a Tim Duckworth or similar type sleeper talent in rounds 3 or later.
Just because he's a first round pick on "most draft sites" doesn't make those sites right, my friend. Tyler's overrated and his character concerns will drop him... And Woodley practiced what- a day or two before his injury and he drops a whole round on a draft board? Your call but I see a well-built athlete with top production playing the best teams in college football; a team leader who projects very well not only to the outside in the 3-4, but the inside as well.
