Six days till game time so with the coach firings today just a little different take on the Schotty conversation. Jacksonville, Miami, Indy, San Diego, KC and St Louis are all either certainly changing coaches or are in the very likely to change category. Houston, Philly, Tampa, New York Giants, Dallas, Minn and Washington are all in the could change category. I know many on this board don't believe Schotty has what it takes to be a head coach but I'm not sure that is the prevailing view in front offices. He has a strong pedigree and has two straight AFC championship game appearances on his resume. If Schotty does get an HC job, it is likely he will target certain Jets in order to help him instill his system and make his mark on his new team. We saw this both with Rex targeting Ravens and Mangini targeting Jets. My question is where do you think Schotty could most likely get a head coaching shot and what players do you think he would try to take with him?
I don't know enough about these other teams' situations and their relationship to Schotty to take a real guess, but my dream scenario is that he gets hired as HC in Miami and takes Hunter and Mulligan with him  Seriously though, I would love to see him get hired anywhere just so we can see what this offense can do with a different OC and we can finally end the debate on Schotty!!
O man the first line is a wet dream. And I totally agree this constant bash of schotty let it end finally
We're trying to secure a wilcard playoff spot. We play the eagles this week. Why not wait to discuss this scenario when we are mathematically eliminated or we lose in the playoffs. There will be so much time to deal with this later. We should be channeling all positive thoughts into this next very important game.....no?
I agree!!! Anyone who is playing against the Eagles next week, please do not participate in this discussion.
He's not going anywhere. He is signed here and Rex openly comes out supporting Shotty. QB play is better RIGHT NOW so im happy.
Other than Santonio, have there been any other players who've complained about Schotty? I wonder how many players would actually want to follow him and his system elsewhere.
Houston??? Kubiak just won a division title and is in the running for the #1 seed after losing his best defensive player, his top two QBs and being without the best receiver in the NFL most of the season. Not only is he not losing his job, but he might get coach of the year. I don't see Shanahan going anywhere either. And whoever wins the division between NY and Dallas keeps his job.
+1 I completely agree. The nuts who are fixated on bashing schotty no matter what are getting very boring. how many fng threads do we need so that these assclowns can continue to discuss schotty? Meanwhile the Jets have won 3 in a row and the offense is firing on all cylinders better than it has all season. We have the eagles next we need to channel positivity on what we need to do in order to beat the eagles.
I don't see why any franchise would WANT to hire Schotty, I'd see them going after Pettine first, or even Dennis Thurman like the Raiders did last year for their DC job, which we denied him because he was under contract.
Sorry, why don't you schedule a time for everyone to put on aluminum foil hats and send positive energy waves to the team.
Kansas City They don't want a big-name coach and will NOT spend Big $$$ on a coach. They want someone who gets along with Scott Pioli and Clark Hunt. Schotty is young (like Haley) but his pedigree with Marty is an offset. I think BS takes the KC job.
Hardly. Pioli, does not want Son of Martyball. Now, if the Moore experiment continues to succeed, and the Jets Offense carries to the VLT.... Maybe. (The inside track on KC, is going to be McDaniels. Another ex Pat, and...he looks pretty good, since he's the guy that drafted Tebow, and Spagnoulo's staff will be gone.)
As I keep saying...the organization brought Moore in to coach up Schotty. It's working. (So Far). The best hope for the organization is that this relationship blooms, the 8 or 9 spots get filled, and Schotty has nowhere to go. Sanchez is in his 3rd year. If Schotty, and the System Grow, along with Sanchez, who wants to break in a whole new system? Schotty's flaws have always been obvious. Fix those and settle for continuity. (and I've been on the anti-schotty bandwagon for years)
