What does the Harris pick mean for Schlegel? Have we given up on him?

I think he's done, but you might see Harris and Schlegel inside on some run downs, with Vilma shifting outside or something. Maybe on goalline packages or something like that. But ya, for the most part, I would guess Schlegel's been relegated to backup duty.

how can you give up on a guy who's going into his second year, and hasn't really played yet.

Mangini et al didnt draft him to toss him aside after one season without even seeing what he can do in a game.

im so sick of the attitude that people have, where if a guy isnt a pro-bowler his 1st season he's a worthless bust.

For me, this means the end of Eric Barton and or Brad Kassell rather than Schlegal.

Why would they call it quits on him already?

agreed, Barton makes good coin. BTW Hobson is in the final year of his contract, could use some Barton money if Hobson keeps progressing.

Schlegal was really bad last year. Both he and Kassel are awful at dropping into coverage. Hopefully, Harris can do better.
