Just thought i would put it up here didnt see it posted yet. Seems Hutch thinks we are a win Now team i was reading about this argument earlier today... He also believes there is no way Clemens beats out Pennington for the starting job which i thought was pretty interesting. Thoughts?

My thoughts are he is saying exactly what I have been saying for weeks here. I also agree with McFadden(if he is there) and Flacco as picks they may very well make. As far as Pennington, I do believe the job is wide open and I also believe Pennington will have the better camp so I guess I agree he gets the job as well.

I am still up in the air about the whole pennington clemens battle. I get the feeling that Clemens is going into camp with a bit of a heads up over Chad.

The Matt Ryan end of this article was what i found interesting. A lot of people were thinking that we were pretty high on Matt Ryan and the fact that he isnt on the list of names surprised me a little bit.

Also Flacco seems to be a fan favorite on this site and according to this article. But has there been any real evidence that they are considering drafting this guy? I dont think there is a team in the league that wouldnt mind having a big strong armed quaterback waiting in the wings. Thats why i think his name keeps popping up.

    Very POOR reporting by Hutch.
Yes Ryan wasn't invited to Hofsta, but the Jet's extensively worked him out on March 21st.

This, in my mind, is the perfect time to address this since this week is the SB Nation NFL mock draft, and when I am on the clock I will update you. Anyway, the story going around comes from Gary Myers who has been at the owners meetings in Palm Beach, Florida. He explains the that the Jets have shown serious interest in the BC quarterback.

Pennington could easily be the starter coming out of training camp. But he and Clemens could have company this summer. The Jets held a private workout in Boston on March 21 for Boston College quarterback Matt Ryan. It was attended by Mangini, Tannenbaum and offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer. They are the three key QB decision-makers and they all would not have been there if the Jets did not have serious interest in Ryan.
I have always been a strong supporter of Pennington and this makes me feel good about his chances of getting some snaps in this season. With Clemens, I think this mainly shows that the Jets are interested in Ryan, and the effect of the Jets getting him that this may have on Clemens is minimal. We'll see, but I have to say this does really make me that much more excited about how I am going to pick in the mock draft that we are doing. This also tells me that the Jets front office and coaching staff may be okay with a toss up pertaining to who is going to be the starting quarterback for the season because we already addressed so many needs this off season that the team can be reliant on other parts and not have to deal with the burden of who is going to be under center.
