This team is made for the playoffs. After adding veteran leaders such as Jason Taylor, Santonio Holmes and L.T during the offseason; I honestly believe we're built to beat BB, Tom Brady and the Patriots, with the pressure on, during a win or go home game, that just so happens to be on the road in NE. People can say what they say about Rex, but the bottom line is this... Rex Ryan has this team believing they can beat anyone, anytime, anywhere. Our 3-1 playoff record over the past two years speaks for itself. All 3 playoff W's have been on the road, as the underdog team. Mark Sanchez has been matched up against QB's such as Carson Palmer, Philip Rivers, Peyton Manning of 2009 and Peyton Manning of 2010, with a career playoff record of 3-1, on the road, as a 2nd year player?!? We have a winner under center boys... Sanchez is full of nothing but guts and heart. It's time to add Tom Brady to the list. Bring on the Patriots; we'll be ready to pull off yet another road upset during the playoffs. Road Warriors
I think the best way for us to sum up Wild Card Weekend 2011 in the Nuffle is to paraphrase those immortal words of 2010 spoken by the GREATEST HEAD COACH IN NFL HISTORY.... "You guys know what they are gonna write about this weekend, don't you..... THREE ROAD TEAMS ADVANCE... AND THE FUCKING SEATTLE SEASUCKS"
That was a pretty funny post sg3, but I still cant get over the different types of ways that we beat Peyton Manning and the Colts. That was an epic victory for this Jets team, one of the most thrilling playoff games I've ever seen. I was on the edge of my seat for 3 hours and also felt sick during halftime. I'm so proud of this Jets team. Holding Peyton Manning and the Colts to 16 points off of 1 TD / 3 FG's was amazing. Revis holding Wayne to 1 catch, for only 1 yard was something special. Our offensive line and rushing attack was the reason why we won the game during the 2nd half, while limiting Manning and the Colts to only 3 offensive series (3 FG's); while the Jets put up two TD's to go along with a game winning FG with 0:00 left on the clock during the 2nd half. I'll never forget that final drive. Down two with just about 50 seconds left and we won the game? Simply amazing. Cromartie set us up nice to around the 45, but after that, Sanchez took over, under the pressure of the playoffs!
RR has been incredibly successful here in just two years, especially when you compare him to NYJ HCs of the past. A great leader with a high football IQ. I still think this team needs a dominant passrusher to put us over the top, but yesterday's performance was reassuring. This defense is nasty, they don't need to throw the kitchen sink at them every time to get it done, but they might.
Last time we went into NE, we got beat down. That still doesn't change the fact the we've went 2-2 against the Patriots under Rex Ryan and Mark Sanchez since last year. We're also one of only two teams that were able to beat this Patriots team this year. We can beat this team, we know we can beat this team, and after beating both the Steelers and Colts on the road this season; I'm confident that we'll take out NE, on the road, in the same types of ways that the Ravens eliminated them last year; which was done with toughness. We played our worst game in two years last time we played the Patriots. That won't happen again. I'm already sick of reading fans talk about, and wonder how we're gonna stop players such as Welker, Branch, Grod, Hernandez, Green-Ellis, Woodhead and Eddelman. We have Rex Ryan and a defense full of talent to worry about that. My question is this; how the hell can that NE defense stop our offense? We also have playmakers in Greene, L.T, Keller, Edwards, Cotchery, Brad Smith & Holmes!
