I didn't even know Sanchez broke his nose sunday. Sanchez said he'll break nose every week for more Jets winsBy Dan Hanzus NFL.com Published: Sept. 27, 2011 at 06:39 p.m. Updated: Sept. 27, 2011 at 07:04 p.m. If you've been at a sports bar during a Jets game in the past three years, the words "Mark Sanchez" and "pretty boy" typically go hand and hand. These things happen when you do GQ photo shoots wearing white pants so tight that Miley Cyrus would deem them obscene. Perhaps in a subtle attempt to change the reputation he helped foster, Sanchez is taking a very non-pretty boy stance when it comes to the broken nose he suffered against the Raiders on Sunday. "If it's a cosmetic thing I don't really care," he told 1050-AM in New York. "I'll break my nose every game as long as we're going to win. I don't care about that." You hear that, Sanchize haters? This man will suffer a broken nose every single week if that's what it takes to bring the Lombardi Trophy back to the Jets. Done calling him a pretty boy now? No? We figured.
Just saw the replay on it. Good blow to the head with no penalty, but they were calling PI for breathing to hard on a receiver.
Jeez, I just came here looking to see some news on his nose. lol Am watching the game no the NFL Network replay and just saw them mention it, and a brief clip from Rex talking about it. I don't think I've ever heard of a QB breaking his nose before.
Im pretty sure Big Ben did last year? or the year before? Ngata raped him and he stayed in the game and you could see his nose was completely fucked up
he had sex with an underage women(too bad he didnt rape her in a bathroom), hes hard to take down(not because hes fat) but hes a quick son of a homo, and he broke his nose. (big ben) superbowl?
A lot of my friends are Giants fans and they say their tired of hearing how great Sanchez is. That he's not that good blah, blah, blah... My biggest defense for Sanchez is he is a gamer. Somehow when he is behind center for the Jets we find a way to win. Last year, against Pittsburgh he took a lot of shots (the strip sack) and hung in there and I think we all agree if the Jets got the ball back Sanchez was going to lead us to the promise land. A broken nose is no joke and he took a lot of shots again this past Sunday. Sanchez is a tough QB who fights and has the desire to win. This is his best strength.
This is pure frustration on their part with how hyped Eli was and how little they've gotten out of him after that defense inspired Super Bowl win. Eli Manning is the cautionary tale for Jet's fans with Sanchez. It's really easy to just meander through your career and wind up at 30 with one achievement behind you and a crappy team that has nowhere to go but down at that point.
Mark Sanchez breaks his nose, everyone moves on. Ben Roethlisberger breaks his nose, it's Marcia Brady all over again.
idk how many people here dislike Mark. The dude is a baller. Has a shyt OC, banged up O-line, Never bitches, and most important..Playoff wins... That's my Quaterback...
Mark is one tough SOB, and dispite people doubting him, I can't see any other QB leading the Jets to the SB and winnig.
I love Mark. I love his attitude, I like that he's a gamer, and I really want him to win. He's a great guy to root for. However, he's not immune to criticism, and on a team billed as a Super Bowl favorite, we need him to step up and play like a SB quarterback. He's played well in the playoffs both years. But by no means has he been great. I want Mark to be the 2nd best player on offense for the Jets (behind Mangold). I want him to help carry us to wins on his arm. And most importantly be more consistent. By no means is he a bad quarterback now, but he's far from elite. And elite quarterbacks usually win Super Bowls. Everything about him off the field, I love. And I love parts about him on the field, and I think he can still get better. He's already shown signs of improvement this year. He's still not a great quarterback, but I'll gladly go to battle with him, and I hope with more maturity and more experience, he'll continue to grow into one of the top quarterbacks in the league. But can we win a Super Bowl with him now? We can if the rest of our team is good enough. And right now, our defense is very good, but it's not dominant. The offense is struggling around him, so right now, as I mentioned in that other thread I started, I would say no. We need Mark to step up if we want to cash Rex's checks this year. He can't force passes like he did the early mistake vs Oakland. He needs to be accurate nearly all of the time, not just the majority of the time. And we need the offensive line to step up and give him some more time to throw. That way, Sanchez doesn't have to break his nose for us to win...
