Does anyone think getting the crap kicked out of him in the first 4 games of the season, especially against the Ravens, made him gun shy and scared.

I don't remember him being so indecisive last year...and he seemed to have more escapability also.

i think it affected him, but he had a nice 3 game winning streak since that game. His timing is off all over the place. Receivers aren't getting any separation so three step drops turn into 3 steps and happy feet resulting in a hit ... five step drop end up in him retreating 10 more steps. This is due to receivers not getting away and defenses basically saying flood the area 10 yards from scrimmage and they can't do anything. One guy runs a shallow cross, another guys runs a slant, and another guy runs a 3 yard out...defenses know they jets live and die by the slant. Stop the slant you stop the jets offense. Same way you beat new england - throw off timing, get physical with receivers, and pressure brady....teams know how to play the jets. They aren't going to run 80 yards on a play so you can take chances -- maybe you give up 8 - 15 yards but more often it's 4 yards or less and no real threat of a downfield throw.

Hell last night they had 9 men in the box and no audible was called..mcknight into a crowd for a loss of one. Those types of situations is where you make teams play. Makes it very obvious that sanchez has no option to call into another play in situations. They just don't trust him.

    NO Braylon, No Cotchery.

    Blame Tannenbaum.

to some extent this is on Rex. He doesn't want to have to deal with the offense, and firing Schotty means he's got to get more involved.

Rex needs to let Sanchez be Sanchez. The offense needs to stop playing not to lose.

Sanchez is currently in a dark moment, a very dark moment. Maybe it has something to do with the lockout? Maybe he just sucks. Alls I know is that were 5-5 and probably headed for an .500 season at best cause thats who were are.

This Sanchez being Sanchez is driving me nuts, he is Sanchez and you saw him yesterday.

Admittedly, he plays better than that in general but not by much. he had all the chances in the world to sling it out being Sanchez at the end of the 2nd, sure the drive didn't impress me.
(btw did you see his hail mary, the ball wobbled to their 20 yrd line)

I would buy that except that he was giood in our 3 game win streak and he wasn't terrible against NE until late.

Was he? All I remember was our offense sucking against Miami until the second half. And him throwing boneheaded picks in the endzone against SD and Buffalo winning the games only off the success of our defense.

The 2nd half the O scored at will, he may have thrown INts against SD and Buf but he played well overall.

Our D cost us the last 2 games.

I can't agree with this at all. Last night was a total team loss, but most of it goes on the offense. The offense generated 13 points (3 of which were set up by the defense with a fumble recovery) but gave 7 to the Broncos. That is 6 net points the offense provided this team with. I don't care if we have the 85 bears out there, if our offense can only manage to procure a 6 point positive contribution to the game, we will lose 99% of the time. The defense just gets all of the blame because of the last drive, but the reality is that they should never have been in that position to begin with, and them letting that TD up is the only reason I call it a team loss.

And last Sunday, our defense held Tom Brady to SIX points, in 29 minutes until our inept offense calls a TO giving Tom Brady ample time to go down the field and score a TD. Against the Worst defense in the league, our offense was only able to score 14 points (2 from the D) Sanchez looked terrible against the worst defense in the league, throwing a Pick 6. If we had a competent offense, we would have scored 30 plus and maybe kept the Ball out of brady's hands to give our defense a rest and the luxury of simply having to slow them down and not practically guarantee a 3 and out every patriots series just to keep us in the game.

In the miami, buffalo, and san diego games our first halves have been abysmal. The only bright spot was the re emergence of the run game and plaxico.
