Yes, him and schotty lost us this game, along with those penalties. But give sanchez a break. This is his FIRST time playing in cold weather. There IS a difference. We weren't going to win the superbowl anyway this year, so lets just stick in there with him and hope this team the best. Hopefully we can pick it up and make the best out of this season.
I'm on board with this logic...100% I'm not stupid, I know Sanchez had a bad game.....but he isn't a bust, he's new to these weather conditions, he's still learning, he's missing the 2 Wideouts that he's been working with all season (Cotch, Smith)....the list goes on and on. Before the season began...I predicted this team would 8-8......and i still believe that.....this kid needs time to mature.....and taking lumps like he did today, is all a part of his learning curve.
sanchez is a rookie, but comon he didnt have 2 bad games, he had 2 dreadful games, one with 4 TO's and the other with 5 picks, i dont know how you can expect to win those numbers, sanchez is the reason we lost, and if he has another game like that, i say bench him, much better chance with clemens
i call shenenighans! seriously, its like if we don't win every game its the end of hte world. 3 bad losses... ok that sucks. are there positives? sure, we're second in the division. its still pretty early in the season.
For the next 50 Sanchez starts, it will be his "first something": his first time playing in the rain after 6:00 p.m., with the weather between 35–45 degrees. Even as a rookie, you are expected to perform at a certain level. If you can't, it's OK, but you sure as fuck shouldn't be starting. To everyone who wants to give Sanchez a free pass because he's a rookie, keep in mind we have a backup on the bench in Clemens, who should be playing if Sanchez can't do better than 5 ints v. buffalo. If you are willing to excuse Sanchez's piss poor play no matter what because he is a rookie, perhaps its time to bring in KC and let Mark sit and learn from the sidelines
Not only is he a kid, but he's only 22 years old. By NFL standards, he still in diapers. Add in the fact that he's never played in a pressure game during his one and only season at USC and what do we have? A kid playing football in a man's league folks. Get used to what you saw today. It will be several years if ever before you stop seeing it. A bigger question should be, can this SoCal kid play in the NE during winter???
sanchez is an investment. high risk certainly. if you've any familiarity with high risk investments, you don't trash them at the first sign of trouble.
:metal: EXACTLY. he is a rookie. But if he throws 5 INTS against the Bills and can't move the offense then he is a rookie who doesn't deserve to be starting. Let him learn some more about the NFL from the bench. :metal:
Best post of the season. Finally someone who's thinking on my level. If the excuses are "He's only a rookie", "He's only 22", "He's never played in cold weather", then put in the guy who isn't a rookie, the guy who isn't only 22, and the guy who has played in cold weather. There's nothing wrong with letting Sanchez learn on the sidelines. Every excuse boils down to one thing: Sanchez is not ready to be a starter.
I think benching him would be the biggest mistake you could make. This is the way to see if this kid can swim. Fuck letting him sit on the bench behind Kellen friggin Clemens. On the job training in the hot seat. Who wants to wait 2-3 years behind Clemens to find out if this kid is a bust? He had 2 bad games and nothing for nothing he put the team in the lead 3 times last week when the D failed. He got behind in the Titans game and made some key throws to win the game, when the running game was failing. Nobody can say if he'll be great, but he's shown some qualities in 6 games and also showed some pretty ugly tendencies as well. Lets see if he gets better. Benching him delays the inevitable all the while telling a guy that had been passed over by everyone including the rookie, that he's now replacing the rookie. And we all know KC is a take charge kind of QB.....not so much.
There are no benefits in putting clemens under center....... you seriously think he will win more games for us? Sanchez is our future and will only get better there is no point in putting happy feet clemens behind our offense.
At least it's not a stab in the back. When the CS sees that he can't make the throws in the weather, why not bring in Clemens who is more accustomed to the circumstances?
Clemens has lost 3 training camp battles in a row. One to the Noodle, One to the Legend and One to the Rookie. That right there says it all for me of who gives the Jets the best chance to win. We all seen KC play in the preseason so lets not act like they were all bs competition and he was lighting the world on fire. Hes a back up QB AT BEST.
Shenanighans is not a word. Shenanigans is. This thread is unnecessary. Addressing anyone who this thread is targeted at is a waste of time.
3 training camps and pass over by 1.5 coaching staff, nonethless. I'm not getting all homer here, but Sanchez has played pretty damn good at times and pretty damn horrible at times. The F'ed up thing about this team is for the past couple of weeks, one side of the ball has been blown out. They need to get both sides of the ball in synch and playing well. That, to me, points more at the coaching staff than anything.
