I said this week that Sanchez could go to the next level if he were to beat the Patriots tonight. Well, here we are. This game will do wonders to launch him to the next level. He started out looking a wee bit nervous again, but quickly settled down and never looked back. More than make believers of all of us, he'll be a total believer in himself. I've felt for a while that he knew he was very capable and had all the tools, but that he had trouble really believing he could orchestrate this NFL-caliber offense to a win in a really difficult game and against all odds. Well, he did it tonight. The game is pivitol for him. Huge. He's no longer a Rookie in my mind now. He's an experienced, professional quarterback who can get it done. Gentlemen, we're in good shape now. We've finally got the franchise quarterback we've been looking for for many, many years. What a relief.
He did look a little shaky in the first quarter, but after today I think he'll be lights-out next week.
4 Playoff wins in two years.Lookin to make that 5 next week!Has that ever been done by a QB in his second year?
He had a big game in Pittsburgh earlier in the year there. He threw it all over the lot that day and went in there and won. Impressive as Hell. As for today; started shaky.. but that throw to Braylon was a big time throw. He doesn't go limp when we need him most. He doesn't really freeze. He is a likable kid.
I was nervous when he was all over the place in the beginning, but knew he would come around because he was so good in the playoffs last year that I wasn't worried about the pressure getting to him. Wish little Aiden was here to see his buddy's game today.
If Jets win next week, Sanchez would have the most road playoff wins in NFL history. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
Raplessburger has exceeded this in his first two years. Where Sanchez is special is that his are all while playing on the road, no one else has done that.
Our fair-weather QB has now played 2 Playoff games in the cold weather. He is 2-0 with an average QB rating of 129.
I can't think of another QB that has done that, but I'm younger than most people here so dont know for sure. Has any QB done it for either conference?
sanchez doesnt get the stats but the dude is money he has dare i say it alot of favre in him in that its never pretty but he gets it done
Sanchez 127.3 QBR Brady 89 QBR. Sanchez stepped up in a Huge game and played his best game ever. He took a Huge step forward tonight.
The thing is, he's getting it done and this is only his 2nd year in the NFL after starting only 16 games in college. It's scary when you think about it. If he's taking the Jets to two championship games in his first two years, think about what the future could hold if we continue to surround him with decent talent.
No i don't want to bench him in favor of clemens. but thanks for asking and thanks for bringing up a bogus issue on a night when most of us are celebrating.
