He's gone, and lucky for him, he's got his redshirt year still...that way he can basically have his pick of open QB situations in D1.

That coach is a douche bag.

Give the injrued senior his job back! If he sucks bench him, don't ask 50 million people their opinion and then yank him for a young guy without even playing a snap!

His dad and Callahan are close, he's a Cornhusker.

The scoop is that Carpenter (the back up) went and cried to Koeter about being backup. Koeter had already made up his mind as to who the starter was to be: Keller. Koeter one day later went back on his word and named Carpenter his starter. Keller was not having it because there was talk of him having NFL potential and clearly sitting on the bench would not be the best way to showcase his talent. So, he transferred to Nebraska to redshirt I believe and possibly be the starter in '07.

The reasoning is that Koetter wanted a future QB in Carpenter and wanted to keep him there. However, in the process he did shortchange Keller. Good luck Keller and let's go SunDevils!!

That's pretty much it, but there was also a big group of vocal Sun Devils that had supported Carpenter, the reason they did though, I can't understand. Keller was lights out last year before the injury, and would have been the same this season.

All this story tells me is that Koetter is a tool, and will struggle to have the respect of his players for a long time. If I were another top player on the Sun Devils and I saw this, I might have bolted like Keller did, why be loyal to a coach that won't be loyal to you.

Doesn't matter now though, Keller's in Lincoln, and it pretty much makes Nebraska one of the favorites to make the 07-08 National Title game.
