Salary Cap Update : Can the Jets Extend Everybody ? May 9th, 2010 - by Bent > http://www.thejetsblog.com/2010/05/09/salary-cap-update-can-the-jets-extend-everybody/
I read that article on thejetsblog.. and I must say, it was really well done to give fans a basic understanding of how it can get done. And when you consider we have Tannenbaum running the show, I fully expect him to make it work and bring back all the players he wants to bring back. If Cromartie or Holmes or whomever aren't brought back, I think it will have more to do with the team not wanting them back than the team not being able to bring them back. Tanny will find a way.
As awesome as this article is, he never even took rookie salaries into consideration. Can all of our draft picks be signed with 4million dollars? I guess that is all going to depend on how well we do this year.
hell of an article, really impressive work, although the author basically predicates the article by saying we have no mother f-in clue what the cap will actually look like... So that sort of makes the following conversation nothing but pure conjecture... But it was quality estimation at that.
Unfortunately, next offseason everyone's going to be lining up at Tanny's office for new contracts because we pretty much can't get anything done this offseason. I'm kind of hoping that VG gets cut in camp so we don't have to take the cap hit next offseason when we're trying to re-sign the actual football players.
Everybody quotes the article. She was asked to post the first few lines (main point) of the article. I don't think that was SundayJack that asked her to do so. I think it was JetFanMack.
We will only take a cap hit if there is salary cap in place. I don't see it coming back in the near future, but I also predicted a 12-4 Jets season last year.
