Ryan, Scott, Leonhard more important to Baltimore than we thought?

I know it is just one game each, but the Ravens defense did not look as great as the Jets D did and it was 2 different situations.

The Ravens had it MUCH easier.
At home vs. the TERRIBLE Chiefs who were starting a back up quarterback.
They allowed 17 points and forced 0 Turnovers.

The Jets had it MUCH harder.
On the road vs. a Top 10 Offense who plays better at home than the road.
The Jets allowed 0 points and forced 2 Turnovers.

Also look at both teams last year and how great Baltimore was. The Jets were pretty good too, but not like yesterday.

Their importance are very big. Especially Ryan. The reason I thought of this is some Ravens friends tried to tell me that it was the players and not Rex Ryan. He is wrong. Ryan and company obviously make a difference.

Not saying Baltimore is bad now, still a gread D, but they lost something when they lost Ryan, Scott, and Leonhard.

i doubt our defense is that on the whole year. but if giving up 17 points is going to be considered a bad game for us now ill take it.

i said the same thing to myself yesterday. i was so shocked by the big difference in the way baltimore looked and the way the jets looked defensively. it was literally like they swaped. it also goes to show how truly in tune with his defense rex was in baltimore, considering what pieces he took with him.

I think this will become more apparent as the season progresses. Ray Lewis their leader isn't getting any younger either.
I wonder if anymore Ravens will end up as Jets?

If that happens, who on the Ravens D would you like to be here on the Jets?

It's too early to make any assumptions about anybody in the NFL.

Where ever the hole appears to be. Ngata springs to mind, Jenks needs help there.

I think you should look inside the numbers. The TOP was 39 and change to 20 and change. The Chiefs had 188 gross yards of O. They averaged 1.7 YPC and 5.9 YPA passing. They had their asses kicked. The had a big run back and they did a good job running back punts. The KC O was outright manhandled.

Sometimes teams play down to their opponent's level, and only play well enough to win.

I can see players not wanting to go all out and possibly injuring themselves to beat a team they'll be with only 1/2 the effort.

But of course if they're not careful this can lead to upsets.

This upcoming game will tell us a lot about where the Jets truly are as a team... it's a great test in general.

Ryan should be able to win this... not saying it'll be easy, but if Mangini can do it, why not Ryan?

Would be a dream come true if it did happen and Ravens front office turns into the METS Front office. Too bad they don't have an omar minaya there to screw things up....

Yeah I am not saying the Ravens did bad though, more showing the importance of Ryan to the team. My friend said it was the players and not Ryan.

No doubt, but Ozzie is one of the best personnel men in the business.

As a Ravens fan I'm rooting for you guys to meet us in the Playoffs because I will always be grateful for the effort Scott, Ryan and Leonhard gave us.

That being said... if you take away a blocked punt in the end zone, a costly offensive turnover by Flacco that allowed the player to return it to the red zone and some boneheaded Special Team plays and penalties... The score is easily 38-10 and possibly more, with momentum being a good part of the game. If anything I'm excited that our offense was able to respond. We haven't had something like that.

BTW tell Thomas Jones to score lots and lots of points, he is on my FF team... I need him to come through!

And I really hope Scott has a good year... I love that guy and always will!
