It'll probably be something along the lines of: "Bryan Thomas has done a great job of making our QB's look elusive."
Yeah, can't put too much stock in this. I'd love it if it were true, though. We wouldn't have to worry about receiver in the first and could be freed up to draft Moreno. Either way, I'm sure we'll grab a receiver in the middle rounds.
I'm just happy to see an upbeat, postitive coach who isn't afraid to talk to the press. We never had anything to use from Mangini...It's nice to see a coach get behind his players, regardless if it's all hot air. Guys are going to want to play for Rex, and he knows how to motivate them.
David Clowney will make some plays for us, no doubt about it. He has shown nothing but promise when he's on the field. He was dropped by the Packers and not given a fair shot with the Jets last season, but whenever he was on the field he made plays. He only got one catch last season, but he made the most of his opportunity by making a great catch on a poor pass.
Ryan wasn't asked about his thoughts on Clowney, a reporter didn't say 'what about Clowney', he was asked for the name of a player that he didn't know about coming in that has pretty mucbh wowed him, and he picked Clowney's name out of a lot of players, so looking at it in context, it holds more water than being directly asked about a player.
Yeah, my previous comment was made before I actually read the various minicamp articles. It's not just Ryan. The reporters love what they're seeing out of Clowney, too. As far as Ryan saying something negative, he was openly acknowledging mistakes made by Ratliff, etc. He comes across as optimistic, but not necessarily to a fault.
Completely agree, it it wasn't for his injuries he might of been able to show us something last season, everyone seems to be impressed with him, so i can't wait to get a look at him. I also agree about Ryan, he is a optimist but he is also a realist, he said that Ratty made some mistakes, he won't sugar coat it, that doesn't help anyone. I don't think it occurs to pessimistic Jet fans that Ryan is saying all these good things about players because they are actually what he sees....... he also said that Keller had to improve blocking wise and that it was time Smith stepped up to the plate, so it's not like he is just churning out generic compliments to all and everyone without consideration to there game.
Why the fuck is Rex Ryan conjecturing about fantasy football? Focus Rex, you're a fucking head coach now.
That comment was after the quotes. That was the Rotoworld's author's take on it. He is a fantasy guy.
props to you for bringing this to our attention.... im thinkin clowneys gonna get 400-600 yards this season, and develop quickly into a #2 for the next season
