Well I don't know if thats something that I'd ever think of posing as a question to myself about the Scarlet Knights...But honestly, barring some RU stumble in mid-season which would be true Knights fashion, they've got some shot. Their only test is against Louisville. Some of the games that they've got coming up are Howard (I-AA), Navy, Ohio (Not the Bucks...the Bobcats). With that kind of schedule lets hope that all RU comes away with is one loss. Any more than that would be hideous.

While I am not a huge Rutgers fan, I do root for them and it would be cool if they made a January Bowl game or something of that sort.

Yeah, no doubt. I'm a bit of a Rutgers fan. I root for them come every Saturday. Plus, the Fat Cat settles better after the game in the drunken haze of the trucks on College Ave. haha. You never know, its not an unrealistic vision.

    only test louisville?
south florida is 2-0 and not a pushover, and playing at pitt is always tough, not to mention syracuse took #14 iowa to double OT

then there is this team...west virginia...they are, oh, i dont know, RANKED 5TH IN THE NATION

come away with one loss? 8 or 9 wins is more like it

Yeah seriously, did WVU forfeit all their games when we weren't paying attention?

They're going to lose more than one game, if they go 8-3, I'll be very happy. 9-2 would be euphoric.

They'll start off 4-0 for sure.

Then they play at South Florida, Navy, and Pitt. I'm not sure they are going 3-0 in that stretch.

    They should then beat Connecticut.

They probably will not beat Louisville.

They should be able to defeat Cincinnati and Syracuse.

They will not beat West Virginia in Morgantown in December.

    I'll call them 9-3.

I was reading the thread, and I'm like, "West Virginia??" About sometime someone brought that up. Their only hope is to beat everyone on the schedule except Louisville and Pitt (not that likely, but certainly doable). Then they have to split Louisville and WVU and hope for tiebreakers. They beat Louisville, then Louisville needs to beat WVU. Then tiebreakers will mean everything.

Don't worry about going undefeated. Keep hope of a Big East title, though there is a very small chance of that coming through.

Ok, minor set back..WVU slipped my mind haha. Its gonna be at least a two loss season then, but still miles away from what RU football used to be.

Considering they used to be the doormat of college football, I happy with their progress. No one is asking for undefeated yet. As a Rutgers fan, I just want a winning season, and a bowl appearance. Big difference from reading about the stupid 1-10 seasons! But as soon as Teel and Rice, and Leonard do their thing good things can happen. Hopefully than we can keep move recruits instate!

    As an alumnus,

I'd be thrilled with only 2 losses. Louisville and WV are very imposing. Pitt and 'Cuse are improved as is SoFla. Hopefully we'll continue to play well in the Big East. How good could Pitt possibly get with Wanny around?
