Lots and lots of smoke suddenly coming from Seattle...and Joe is sitting here reeeaaalll pretty like, holding a high hand with all kinds of options, just watching it all unfold. This could get very, very interesting.

At 32 years old and a bigger cap hit, I'd imagine Russ would be cheaper than Watson despite being more accomplished. Plus Wilson is on record as absolutely LOVING New York, he already screws around with the Yankees in spring training, and I don't think Ciara would be upset with a move.

Obviously there's a long way to go and LOTS of hurdles before he's actually traded, but the blue checks seem to be giving this one legitimate attention tonight...

He's not coming to the NYJ and I doubt he is traded.

I'd wager the same. Especially with the massive cap charge SEA would incur in moving him now.

But this situation has all the potential to blow up, too - they don't have 1st rounders for the next two years, and aren't operating with a ton of cap space.

What I read from this is Wilson saying to the team get me an offensive line. It's nice you got me a safety. Clearly that didn't do anything for us. Now protect me. If the Seahawks don't do anything it becomes an issue but I think they will.

No, don't want him. Rather draft one Wilson than trade for another.
    (Still prefer Fields)

Been saying it for a couple years. The Seahawks need to massively revamp how they view offensive lineman. And it's not really for a lack of effort or resources - they're just hell-bent on drafting 340 pound guards and tackles that can't pass block but are pretty good run blockers.

    It's antiquated.

I doubt he goes anyway though. I'd imagine they make a play for a big time OL in free agency this year and shuffle their cap to make it possible (if they have cap problems).

I don't know how much of a factor they can be in FA. They are have $4m in spending and also are going to have to either tag or resign Adams for a significant amount. Their window has shut IMO.

Looks like they can cut Quandre Diggs and Dunlap to save almost $20 million with no dead cap implications. Duane Brown is another one with a high cap number but I can't imagine they'll release him and create a hole at left tackle.

You're right though. I'm wondering if part of this is the Seahawks are floating this out there to see what the market is so they can weigh whether they should potentially move on and rebuild or give it another go. Which is dumb. They just need to protect him better.

I love Wilson. Obviously if the Jets have a chance to get him they should move hell and water. But, I think the criticism of Seattle's O-line is misguided.

Part of what makes Wilson great is that he holds onto the ball a long time and roams around the pocket. He is always gonna get hit playing that way. Good O-line or not.

The playcalling did them no favors either. It was a vertical passing game and the Rams playoff game showcased their inability to adapt.

You're right though. Wilson hurts himself sometimes. But they badly need to start thinking first downs sometimes rather than homerun plays at all costs. And that goes for Wilson's mindset as well.

That's a good point. Metcalf is such a beast. They should be feeding that beast a steady dose of short crossing routes so he can run over and wear down corners a la Terrell Owens

He's definitely not coming to the Jets, but lets all start hoping for that Andrew Luck-esque early retirement.

Get that pick as good as possible next year.

Bring him in for a medical and accidentally break his kneecaps. We get first pick in 2022.

they stopped feeding him to take pressure off the D. the offense was having too many big plays and leaving the defense exposed
