Hate it. Who the hell wants to wait until Monday night to watch their favorite team kick off the season? And on ESPN at that, the worst booth in the biz.
This makes so much sense from the NFL's standpoint. Monday Night on 9/11 with both NY teams playing. Marketing dream.
Doubt it. I heard a rumor saying NFL is afraid of drunk Jets and Giants fans going at it at the stands or parking lot. A night game or a 4:25 pm game gives fans more time to drink and be rowdy. If this is true, I think Giants-Jets will play at 1 PM as always like they did past 15 years or so. My candidate for MNF is Giants hosting Washington at MNF.
I think the Jets are a lock for primetime week 1. Will it be against the Giants I don't know. Rodgers first game with the Jets you can bet the league will want to showcase that game. We know the Chiefs will open the season at home on TNF. The Jets will either get SNF or MNF. IMHO.
It’s true I’ve posted about this before…in fact all 14 regular season games have been simple 1:00 starts. I don’t think the NFL would schedule Jets Giants week one anyway…..I predicted Jets will open season on primetime - probably MNF and it will not be vs Giants. Unless status quo has changed but if they didn’t schedule Jets vs Giants on the tenth anniversary of 9/11 opting instead of Jets vs Cowboys I doubt they do it now ….
In fact after thinking about it I’m willing to bet that of all the hundreds of possible team vs team matchups ….the Jets vs Giants is probably the only matchup in the NFL which has never deviated from a 1:00 start……
I can't imagine they would put both New York teams on primetime game where majority of the country won't give a crap.

Oh my god I want to beat the Patriots so badly this season it almost hurts. After years of just kind of accepting they'll find a way to win, I really want us to hand them two decisive defeats this year.
Maybe. I get that the Jets haven't beaten them in what seems like a million years, but the Pats aren't "THE PATS" anymore without Brady. The Bills and Dolphins would be a better storyline as all 3 will fight it out for the division.
100% agree. Best storyline plus a beatable team for ARs debut. If there was a Sportsbook taking bets, I’d put my money here.
