Calvin Johnson should be the highest rated Rookie WR on most of the boards, but there are several other new wideouts, that have the potential to be a good Fantasy pick up in later rounds. Which one do you think is worth a pick, and who won?t see the field much?
Ginn - He will never be a fantasy option Meachem - should be the #2 guy in NO, behind a guy that may have just had a fluke rookie campaign. If Colston can't handle the load, Meachem may take over. (although he is coming off surgery, he should be fine by TC) Bowe - shouldn't be too hard to overtake Eddie Kennison, but then again we all know how much Herm plays his rookies........(exactly) Craig Davis - The Chargers seem high on Vincent Jackson, but he has never done anything to be considered a true #1 wide out. Rivers is starting this season with basically two new recievers - but I have a feeling Jackson steps up big this year, and with him, LT, and Gates, there is little room for Davis Gonzalez - Perfect fit for him, and the Colts slot recievers have performed better than many other teams #1 recievers in the past. Plus, if Harrison or Wayne go down, he will have the chance of a lifetime. Rice - Has a great shot to get significant playing time in the good-reciever-less Vikings club. Troy Williamson claims to be ready to step up, but I doubt that is gonna happen, so next in line is Rice. But then again, they don't have a proven QB, so I'm staying away from anyone on Minnesotta. Jarrett - Carolina has been searching for a #2 for a while, and I think they have found him. Jarrett will provide an instant redzone target, and will be sure to get plenty of grabs underneath while defenses are trying to contain Smith over the top. Steve Smith - Honestly, I have no idea. Burress is #1. Is Amani Toomer playing? They just drafted Sinorice Moss last year.... ---------------------------------------------------------- All in all, I'd take Gonzalez. Meachem and Bowe have a chance to do something, but I think my number two rookie would be Jarrett, he will make someone happy when they grab him on the wire.
We're talking about just for this upcoming season, right? Not career. The frontrunner is obviously Calvin Johnson. But I dont think he's gonna put up the most fantasy points this year. Not with Roy Williams around who Kitna looks to first on every play. And Mike Furrey is a good option there too. My choice is Dwayne Bowe. He isn't the most talented rookie WR but he's got the best situation. I mean, he's already guarenteed the #2 WR job and he could easily win #1. Tony Gonzalez and Eddie Kennison are only getting older. I think Bowe will make an immediate impact.
