The Yankees spent 18 million dollars to bring Roger back for a futile effort. You think they would put "some" of that money into international scouting, like Omar Minaya, GM of the Mets. The Mets have signed so many high ceiling Latin American players, who are not subject to the MLB draft, that they are having problems finding positions for them to play in the lower minors. Thanks to the Wilpons and Minaya's "connections" in the Caribbean bushes, the Mets are going to dominate MLB for at least the next ten years.

Try not to associate idiotic threads like this with the rest of us, the same way we dont associate threads made by Rogerblaze with you.

    1) As a Mets fan I’ve got to say a thread like this at this point in the season is just bad karma.

    2) I wouldn’t go as far as to call him Mr. irrelevant; let’s face it, he won seven games for the Asblows last year completely on his own. If he can come in now and do that for the Yankees – that just about puts them at 500. I went to his return in Tampa a few weeks ago because my Yankee fan brother bought tickets and promised to buy the beers for the night. He looked pretty good against those high school kids.

    3) I’ve found over the years that as a Mets fan - when it comes to trash talking with Yankees fans you can never win anyway.

Let's wait for Clemens to pitch first and then we can all make criticisms at will.

More Mets fans who are more concerned with the Yankees than their own team. I know you hate the Yankees but why don't you stick to your own team. Especially JoeJet, you are more than obsessed..

Their are a few in every bunch of act like morons...Two of them have a real name in their user name...

    I won't say who though:up:

His post is not justified at all, but I just want to say that the Mets not winning has nothing to do with that.

Frank, what kind of a Met fan are you anyway? Fairweather? Looking back at a few of your threads, last week you said maybe Maine does suck -he is on pace now to win 20 games and then you said this about a Met pitcher:
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fuck You Schoenweis! Take This Fuckin Bum Out Back And Shoot Him! He Fuckin Sucks---------

I would never say that against ANY human being, even a Yankee.

Im still not convinced Maine is as good as he has been pitching, maybe you are, but I just don't see it yet. And the thing about Schoenweis was clearly a joke, if you took that seriously, something may be wrong with you.

But how does taking shots at me make this thread respectable? Your just fitting the Mets fan stereotype of us caring more about the Yankees than ourselves, and normally that would fit the personality of a fairweather Mets fan. So don't try to take my posts, where emotions were clearly involved, and try to make it evidence for you to claim that i'm a fairweather Mets fan. It makes you look desperate and it proves to me that you know you're thread is idiotic.

Maine isn't as good as he's been pitching. Nobody expected him to be an ace, but all he's given you guys is great results so far. Will he keep it up? Doubtful because he doesn't have that great stuff, but he's done pretty well for himself so far.

Amazing that a guy who calls out people who give out tens of thousands of dollars or even a million dollars to the Hokie Memorial fund is trying to take the high road...

At least Shade is a funny Yankee-hater...

    Wonderful thread, by the way.

Actually Maine does have great stuff.. When he gets in trouble is when he doesn't have command of his great stuff. When he does though, he is pretty tough to hit.. Not only do I think he can keep it up, I think he is only going to get better once he starts consistently commanding his pitches.

I agree, although I also don't think that FranktheTank should've been called out for not having the homer outlook on Maine. I personally think you hit it on the head in that it's all mental with him. If he gets in a mental groove, as he did earlier this year and during his 26 scoreless IP streak last season, he's got #2-#1 SP stuff. I think that he and Perez are very, very similar in that way, with Perez proving to be a little farther along in that department to me thus far this season (to the point where he really seems to be feeding off of the fans' energy).

Thank you. If everyone was called out on times where they said so and so is terrible or whatever, then according to JoeJet everyone on this site except for RobA would be considered a "fairweather fan". Give me a break.
