You can fill one hand with your hope and the other hand with the mounds of shit that Saleh has left as evidence over his career that “behind closed doors” he isn’t disciplining anyone and tell me which fills up first.

14-3 is and was never an option for this team. We beat a TEN team that outplayed us in almost every facet until Will Levis suddenly decided to go full send stupid, and a very bad NE team. We just lost to a bad team yesterday at home. We very realistically can be headed to NE in a few weeks on a 4 game losing streak. This team will be lucky to have a winning season. Without significant improvements in discipline and accountability there’s no chance of it. And you’re looking in a hand full of hope while ignoring that Saleh has been diahrea squirting in your other hand for the past 4 years.

Everything that happens on the field is Saleh's responsibility. If he can't handle it, he needs to be gone.

How long should we wait to see if your bolded prediction comes true? You might have posted that when Saleh was first hired - we're still waiting and nothing confirms your outlook.

Actually trying to hold the Titans/Jets responsible since 1960.

Railing against complacency just as long.

Disagree, it would finally send a message to all the underperforming stiffs which include JD that things are going to change or else....

Okay, I didn't think I should but I can add you to the list of fans who are fine with waiting a few more years to shake up the organization.

Only if you send that list to the Jets front office.

Sounds like you're now lobbying for freebies. Who knows, they may comp you a Reddick jersey.

I get it. Losing is enormously frustrating and my guess is I'm a Jets fan longer than most here (over 50 years, roughly 40 of those in Boston surrounded by smug Pats fans). NFL championships have been "owned" by a select group of franchises who have their shit together from top to bottom the vast majority of time and when they don't they bounce back soon enough

We are not in that tier yet.

Saying the sky is falling and demanding heads to roll every time we stink it up is not the answer. We need to toughen up, grit it out, gut it out, and try to improve every day. (BTW that's a life lesson too) You do this long enough and success usually follows and knuckleheads will say that somehow things came easy or you were lucky or whatever else. Nope. Grit perserverance, hard work (and yes some luck )

I have my own doubts about Saleh (Rex vibes to a certain degree) but what's the answer fire him and hire who? Reboot the whole O and D scheme too?

To name just two - Douglas and Saleh simply do not have the tools to build anything. If you hire a carpenter without a hammer and saw you'll never get a house built regardless of how long you toughen up, grit it out and gut it out while you try, or pray, to improve. The Jets will never be in the winning tier with the people they have running the team today. Where is there any indication that the team under the current leadership "will coalesce and get better"?

I'm curious - how long do you think all of us should be expected to sit quietly while the team continues to fail? What would you need to happen before you finally decide the time has come to scrub the incompetence from the organization?

I'm just lobbying for you to quit badgering Jet fans on the board.

    No jersey needed.

Perhaps you should recognize Jets fans here as adults who are capable of determining for themselves if they are being badgered or simply disagreed with. We're here to discuss opinions - why try to stifle that?

To me it never feels like Saleh and Douglas are collaborating. For the most part it feels like Douglas makes the personnel choices that may or may not be sound and Saleh struggles to utilize the provided personnel effectively, whether they are good players that just need to be put in the right spots or raw players that need to be developed. The gameplan is always kind of basic and unimaginative.

Sometimes it works with the defensive players, but how long did it take for him stop assigning zones to Sauce every single down?

Garrett and Breece disappear most of the time because they are not being used effectively. Most of that Denver game, Wilson was used as a decoy in motion a lot to shift the safeties around. Breece is either run into a pile or is taking lateral handoffs 5 steps deep a lot of the time. I mention this with Saleh because Woody came out and stated matter of factly that Saleh would be charged with taking a more active role in the offense this season. I am definitely not seeing that against Denver.

That strict base defensive alignment does not work as well with the current players and he doesn't have the balls to tell Meat Head to change things up every once in a while. Everything is down to the speed and instincts of the players because the scheme is vanilla without much for wrinkles. That is why Saleh has time to wander around like an idiot on the sideline with that dumb smirk on his face.

The players are distracted on the field for whatever reason. We've seen continued mental lapses from all 4 of the big time 2022 draft picks, as good as they can be at times. Being a head coach requires the managing of egos and Saleh looks ike he wants to hug everyone and tell them it's going to be okay. JJ seemed like he was turning into a flag machine before the injury, Breece has dropped a number of passes and runs like he is in mud all the time, Wilson fumbled on the first drive and gets lazy on his routes when the ball isn't coming to him, Sauce gave up a TD where he was not even looking for the ball. I will say that Sauce is making an effort to tackle this season, but at physical risk that's not necessary. Just Bob being unable to scheme around the talents of his best players.

Holding players accountable only works if there's an actual respect for the authority a person wields. The players are Wyatt Earp telling Behan Saleh that they don't think they'ill let him arrest them today. They look to Rodgers for the leadership because that's really the only direction it is coming from. Their thirst for leadership means they will drink up the narcissistic Watch Me brand of it like it's the only kind.

The more things unfold, the more they reinforce the notion that the Jets are really that inept and out of their depth.

You just can't suck at your own job, then be a leader of your team. Tragic, but that's the nature of basically every organization, and a football team is no exception.

I strongly disagree. I mean, yes, it is JD's mess too because he hired Saleh. But unlike last season, this roster feels like it can actually do some damage with the right leadership. Previous seasons we didn't have a QB and OL. WR was weak. So, Saleh for some people (myself not included) got a pass. However, this year, he has QB, he has OL, he has decent WR room: GW, rejuvenated Lazard, Big Mike, who seems to be playing well. Plus Corley is available too, taken top of the 3d round. It's Saleh's choice to play Gipson over him. The bottom line is that JD for the first time in his tenure here actually put out a decent roster. Aside from fucking up Huff/JFM/Reddick situation. And fucked up the kicker situation too. But at least the offense should be good. Yet it isn't.

The reason is that Saleh and also offensive staff suck. Saleh is a solid DC and that's it. Look at 49ers: they've had 2 other DCs since Saleh left and they are just as good. Heck Ulbrich is also just as good. You can find a DC similar level to Saleh. But he is not HC material.

I'm not suggesting those guys be tenured. But you don't sack them unless you feel damn sure the next guys are better (and not by virtue of them simply being someone else).

Neither is perfect but they're not bums either. JD got Sauce, Garrett, Breece, JJ all in one draft and I'd add Clemons and Mitchell too as having some value. Not many GMs can claim that level of success. Saleh for most of his tenure is playing with a QB tied behind his back, and his current one has played 4 games!

I'm not saying frustration isn't warranted, but if the losses are too much to handle maybe you shouldn't be watching. It's supposed to be fun (on net)

So what you’re saying is you feel we should he extending Saleh and Douglas? You really want 3/4 more years of them, especially picking and coaching a new eventual young QB?

I think the talent on the roster is overrated a lot by Jets fans. Especially on offense.

Saleh doesn't get a pass by any means... just saying he's not sitting on powerhouse here
