http://www.boston.com/sports/football/patriots/reiss_pieces/2008/10/report_harrison.html Doubt he's ever going to come back. I was there last night and when he tried initially to get up but totally failed it was clear he was hurt bad. I know he's got a bad name around the NFL, but it seems kind of undeserved. Yeah, I know he pushes and shoves after the play, but he always struck me as a decent guy off the field. Good career.
Oh, and in case anyone missed it (since I don't see it posted anywhere), Maroney is done as well. http://www.boston.com/sports/football/patriots/articles/2008/10/21/maroney_is_done_for_season/
He is the most fined player in league history and he's also a doper. My keyboard is covered in tears.
I feel bad for Brady, but I'm not gonna lie I couldn't wipe the grin off my face when I saw Harrison go down. One douchebag down, one more to go. Comon Vince Wilfork, some of us can't wait to see you on a date with karma you fucking douchebag
if it wasnt the players that were voting him the dirtiest player in the nfl than i might see how it could be fan perception that he is so dirty. but when all the players around the league vote the guy dirtiest in the nfl it says something. im sure he is probably a nice guy off the field. i dont really have anything personal against him other than he played for the pats. even a guy like harrison i would never be happy to see hurt. i cant say i really feel for the guy, but im not jumping for joy either.
I love that years from now Rodney Harrison will be immortalized by David Tyrees catch over his head. Suckah!
Harrison is just too old school for today's NFL and it's football fans. They loved players from the past like Nitchke in Green Bay, Butkus in Chicago, and Blount and Ham in Pittsburgh for being the kind of player Rodney has been.
if he played on the jets i bet some of us would feel that way about him, and you would be calling him scum. thats just what happens with fans and players on the teams they root for.
True. The game used to be a lot rougher (if you can imagine it): horse collars, head slaps, mugging receivers all of the way down the field, late hits on QB's. Guys like Butkus would be fined constantly if he played that way today.
