I usually do a few mocks but this year is really a tough puzzle. 1. Browns - Myles Garrett, DE, Texas A&M - Should be a slam dunk pick but its the Browns. 2. 49ers - Christian McCaffrey, RB, Stanford - I have a feeling he's the guy they 9ers covet. 3. Bears - Jamal Adams, S, LSU - They have a big need at SS and he is a top end talent. 4. Jags - Leonard Fournette, RB, LSU - Jags need a work horse and Ivory doesn't look like he has much left. 5. Titans - Mike Williams, WR, Clemson - Mariota gets a true #1 WR. 6. JETS - Malik Hooker, S, Ohio State - He's a huge upgrade at FS and an immediate starter. Hooker has the rare ability to close the gap extremely quick with his excellent ball skills and speed. 39. - DeShone Kizer, QB, Notre Dame - Here we go again with another QB in the second round! Kizer i feel would be an absolute steal at 39 because in my opinion he the best QB in the draft. He is a combination of Cam/Big Ben and i think worth the gamble with our 2nd rounder. 70. - David Sharpe, OT, Florida - This guy is a beast in the run game and just flat out beats people up with his strength. He would slot in at RT immediately. 107. - D'Onta Foreman, RB, Texas - We need a power back and he is just what the Dr ordered because Foreman can carry the mail with authority. 150. - Steven Taylor, OLB, Houston - I like his first step and speed. I think he can be a difference maker from day 1. 191. - Robert Davis, WR, Georgia State - A boom or bust pick with nice measurables and speed. Worth the risk with a 6th rounder. 224. - Cameron Tom, C, Southern Miss - Might not be Mangold from day 1 but has good size and was a beast in the run game.
We luv ya rock but a couple things ruffle me..... 1. Kizer - just no. 2. Sharpe......i think we have our RT in shell.
Kizer is a boom or bust guy no doubt. I feel his ceiling is HUGE and when he had a deep threat (Kyle Fuller) and a legit LT (Ronnie Stanley) he looked awesome. I think he's this years Dak/Russell and can make an impact right away. Thats just me i guess though lol Sharpe is a bulldozer and having him competing for a job with Shell (who i like and mocked to the Jets last year) would be a good thing. Plus Beachum has had a bit of an injury history so having some depth at tackle isn't a bad thing.
Kizer has the highest ceiling in the class but a very low floor also. He's young and he hasn't matured yet. I'd take him no questions asked on the 70 but really not interested on the 39. 39 is for a player likely to be very good for us this year.
I would be so pissed if this draft happened. Malik Hooker just like most Ohio State players are overrated, and I live less than an hour from Ohio State. Than add in DeShone Kizer who is as much overrated as Watson, but even less talent. Trubisky is the only QB worth having, if we are just drafting a project, may as well work with the two we already have.
OK....but could sharpe swing to LT.....if so then u got something there. its becoming more and more important for OL players to be able to shift into other places along the OL. this used to be the case way back when OL guys could kick into any spot on the line.
