It was kind of weird how the police were sitting on releasing any information when supposedly their daughter called up and dimed on her brother. Hollywood cart blanche respect kind of thing? People don't usually stab someone less than 3 times unless it's a drunken bar fight, a prison shiv type deal, or self-defense. Stabbing is a crime of rage. It's sexual in nature because it's penetration, and when it isn't blatantly sexual, the stabber is still invading somebody else's body, if that makes any sense. Shooting is a lot more impersonal. I don't mean Nick Reiner was in love with his parents, it's more complicated than that. It's less complicated when it's some controlling POS whose wife left him or they have Ted Bundy Mommy problems. I expect when they release more details that both of them were stabbed multiple times. RIP. Sheezuz.
RIP. Rob Reiner was a genius and a real humanist. There was very little that he made that I didn't enjoy. Seems like the most common causes of death in Hollywood are old age, disease, and murder by family members.

He also influenced so many other great actors/directors, such as Ben Stiller and Ricky Gervais.
Yeah, so petty and sad.... I had the evening news on cooking dinner last night, and showed him saying that on TV. All I can think was "The "President" can't even control himself for 30 secs to take the high road...." 'This is Spinal Tap' is brilliant. I love that movie. Nick Reiner is going to be arraigned soon. I fully expect an insanity defense here. This will be yet another measuring stick on mental illness and whether or not someone is truly responsible for their actions. Well, yeah, he's responsible because he did it, but look at Andrea Yates. She was initially convicted of Capital Murder and she was crazy as fck. It was overturned two years later because of prosecutorial misconduct ==> The lone prosecution expert on her psychiatric state lied about something that I don't think is a tremendous deal on the surface, but I agree that the conviction should have been tossed like it was. She was re-tried and found not guilty by reason of insanity. Aside from the hump expert lie that the jury wasn't even aware of prior to convictiing her on 5 counts of Capital Murder the first time, I think the reason she didn't get not guilty by reason of insanity initially was because the people on that jury were struggling with convicting someone who said God talked to them. They didn't want to be responsible for the implication that billions of people the world over are fcking nuts, so they turtled. Andrea Yates' husband was more guilty than she was. What a POS. He facilitated those murders, but unfortunately, there wasn't anything legally that could be done. And I don't mean that there's no law against being a religious weirdo or a scumbag. There was absolutely no other outcome as to the position that he very willingly put her in with those children. The Aurora shooter, James Holmes, does he look sane to any of you? Guilty and sentenced to 12 life sentences, which I happen to agree with. Anyway, it can be an extremely fine line, but how and where do you draw it?
Nick Reiner's attorney is a heavy hitter. Alan Jackson, one of Karen Read's lawyers, is representing him. I expect this to shine a light on mental illness which is definitely a good thing, but is it any surprise that it will be because it involves the son of a celebrity? I guess you have to push that aside at the end of the day if it actually does anything good for society at large. I hope that what also gets put on trial here is psychiatric drugs.
