http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/wireStory/white-house-press-secretary-jim-brady-dies-24835889 Long time press secretary and political figure in DC, took a bullet in the Reagan assassination attempt in 1981. Passed away at 73. From all accounts, an all around good guy, RIP. _
Living proof how your personal view of an issue changes when you are a victim. Anyone opposing any gun control should be forced to spend an afternoon discussing this issue with Susan Brady or Gabby Giffords.
So being shot is going to make you think no one should have guns? Did you ever think that some who have been shot wished the law would have allowed them to carry and protect themselves?
Ronald Reagan was shot in the same incident and didn't reverse his stance on gun control. It should be noted however that one of the secret service agents he had with him clearly had an Uzi.
This is similar to saying "anyone opposing any spying the government does on us should be forced to spend an afternoon discussing the issue with a 9-11 victims family". I mean c'mon.
Do you even read this forum? What makes you think that that level of critical thinking is possible outside of like 10 people who post here.
I disagree with jwws a lot but he usually makes intelligent arguments. Maybe he was smoking crack the other day, I don't know.
I agree with this to some extent, I changed my views on abortion when I became a father and I witnessed the growth of my son while my wife was carrying him. I don't think it works for everyone but this particular moment in my life changed my outlook on something I had always felt different on.
