One of the funniest physical comics of the 80's. Gallagher was known for putting watermelons on a stand and then smashing them with a wooden sledgehammer spraying the front rows of the audience with smashed watermelon in the process. For Halloween he would smash pumpkins. Early on people did not know the gag. Later they'd wear raincoats if they were sitting in the first few rows. Eventually people were bringing light clear plastic tarps and deploying them to protect the whole area. You would get a race between the spectators deploying the plastic wall and Gallagher rushing his munitions on stage.
