Los. It is preseason. I see that you love to label everything about new season as cotton candy. Why this hatred my friend. It is preseason. What's wrong with some enthusiasm?
There's a part of me that wants to believe him. Then the Jets fan in me shows up and shoves that part of out the way, and declares that Braxton Berrios will have a season-ending knee in week 1 and never be the same again.
i have a sweet tooth and am tryna develop better habits. no hate. maybe exhaustion, fatigue? i like that he said what he said.
I don't know what's got into me this offseason. Maybe things really are different, or I've started to succumb to advancing age.. but I really feel different this year. Usually, when people are enthusiastic about a new season I am pretty cynical, but the moves these past couple of offseasons have filled me with confidence and that draft... I was blown away by that. I'm drinking the green Kool-Aid, I'm buying the book, I'm subscribing to the magazine, I'm swallowing it all, hook, line and sinker. I think we're going to make the playoffs. I think we are going to see one of the greatest turnarounds in our history. I'll get back to you on this when October rolls around.
I am an eternal optimist but this year feels different. But I still can't let my excitement go thru the roof. 2 reasons. 1) Will Zach show improvement 2) Will our defense show a 180 degree turnaround. As long as both 1 and 2 happen, I expect 8-9 wins. Will it be enough for playoffs is another question.
Funnily enough, I am an extremely optimistic person in other areas of my life, but the Jets have turned me into a bitter cynic. Not this year, though. Zach will be better, but it will be Breece Hall we ride to the playoffs and our defense is going to be massively improved.
I am reverse. I always plan for the worst in real life and approach most things with tons of caution. But when it comes to Jets, I let my emotions run thru my logic and became an optimist very easily.
I do like that Berrios said the season would be a failure if the Jets miss the playoffs. What's crazy is that like 80% of the posters here would disagree with him.
