I felt that both of these guys played well today. Rhodes doesnt seem to get a lot of love on this board but the guy is a very important piece to our defense. Lowery has really improved from last season. It's probably a combination of having a year under his belt and him adjusting to this defense well. But its nice to have 4 CB's (Revis, Sheppard, Strickland, and Lowery) you can put out on the field who can actually play and play well as opposed to just having Revis out there and then a bunch of other crappy guys opposite him.
yea i 2nd this...rhodes played well today and lowery has filled in nicely...once pace is back next week this will boost our defense even more...
Rhodes played well. Contrary to what the OP said, I think Rhodes is thought of highly on this board, too highly if you ask me. He got Bob Sanders money, but plays more like Mick JAGger. edit: Hopefully sitting Gholston will allow Rhodes to roam and make some shit happen.
They played good and our whole D as a whole played good. Sanchez doesn't make those 2 costly mistakes we could have won. Hats off to the saints on D.
Add Bryan Thomas to this list, he played a great game yesterday. Really the whole D was great yesterday which gives me great hope for the rest of the season.
just a thought: our d really did play lights out yesterday EVEN having been taken out of our game plan due to the lead NO had. can only wonder how much better the band of lunies would have played if we had the lead and NO was realing. scary.
rhodes has played well.........he's not compiling the stats but he's being asked to do alot of different things. He's had QB hits, pass deflections and good coverage on certain blitzes that can't be accounted in the stat sheet. i thought lowery played well also. it'll be really exciting to have pace, lito and strickland back. i'm not sure that both DB's will be healthy monday but i'm thinking at least 1 will. considering this defense has played without an ellis for a game, pace for 4 games, and strickland and lito for 2 games that's even more impressive. the great thing about this defensive that excites me the most is it has proven it can overcome losses of personnel. i really hope we can stay healthy this year (fingers crossed) especially at key positions, but if 1 or 2 guys have to sit out a game or two we can still play at a high level
I think Coleman needs to be included in this conversation. For being the 5th CB on the depth chart and being put into two very tough games, he played very well and didn't give up anything terrible. Coleman has stepped up his game this past month and I'm glad he's our #5.
BINGO ... If someone would have said before the season started that we would be 3-1 with a victory over NE and done it without PACE for all 4 games, and missing ELLIS for 1 GAME and Strick and Lito for 2 games, I would have said they were crazy ...
