If you take a swipe at one of ours, we’ll take two swipes at one of yours. We’re going to turn the heat up, we’re going to let the fur fly, and let’s see what happens.
Rex Ryan on making Mark Sanchez captain "I see the way the guys are around him and things, this is really going to be his team," "I'm not big on giving out those captain things ... but we will put the C on his jersey this year because he truly is our captain." I'm trying not to tear up over here...
Good idea to make a thread for the quotes Rex Ryan says during the 2011 season. My favorite parts are the 2009 and 2010 quotes posted so far.
Rex is great at saying what he feels his team needs. The Pats and Jets are very closely matched, so there's no basis in fact for what he's saying.
"Mark's gotta way of picking these young broads and nailing the shit outta'em. MY Quarterback" -Rex Ryan
I loved today when Rex was talking about when Burress was on the Steelers and he was torching the Ravens. "I figured out a way to stop him and James Trapp did it, Ok, he got into a fight with Plax right at the end of the first half, when they were up like 28-0. We could not stop Plaxico so that was the best way to take him out. You know, they traded off and they both got booted off, Pittsburgh was irate, we were like, hey, you know, what's fair is fair."
"When he was Chad Johnson, we could never stop him," Ryan said during Monday's news conference. "I hope he doesn't change his name back."" Reasoning explained "Ryan isn't exaggerating about the name change. As defensive coordinator of the Ravens, Ryan faced the wideout six times while he was still Chad Johnson. The Bengals won five of those matchups, with the 6-foot-1 receiver grabbing 31 passes for 469 yards and two touchdowns. In 2008, the former second-round draft pick legally changed his last name to Ochocinco and his success against Ryan changed as well. Ryan's teams have won the last five games against Ochocinco and have held him to 11 catches for 136 yards and zero trips to the end zone." Edit. And we all know how Chad has performed against Revis the last 2 seasons.
Any chance Rex quiets down a bit this year? After the performance in Pittsburgh last year and losing some players off that team how can he say this team is better, let alone talk about a Super Bowl again? How many times can you predict this before you actually have to do it? I know this isnt a popular thing to say but it has crossed my mind and I cant be the only one.
Let Rex be Rex it has gotten us to the AFCCG the last 2 seasons with a rookie and sophomore qb. Shame on you.
Dont say you havent heard the same thing. I didnt say I believe it, I just posed the questions. Wanted to take the temp of people on here, just a few responses give me a good answer.
I love the swagger that Rex gives off. I know it rubs some people the wrong way but all that matters is that the coaches and the 53 men on Sunday believe it.
