The ONLY argument you can possibly make against this trade is that you dont like Sanchez. I am a little scared of him -- because -- they may be the west coast gators -- where the system and the talent makes the QB better than they are. (Obvoiusly , look at Leinart).

BUT -- if you think he is good -- you only gave a second round pick -- last years THIRD string QB -- and two starters. Not a big deal the league has 300 or so defensive starters -- these two are very very average. The issue is not what they gave up. The issue is whether this guy is any good.

I think that theyll start Sanchez like Joe Flacco/Matt Ryan. If you have a decent O line -- like the Jets do -- its not terrible. Also -- I think that youll see a very conservative, Baltimore type offense. Two running backs sharing carries -- alot more touches for Leon. Ryan comes from a system that had mediocre offense for years -- but still won.

This coach wants to win on defense (like his father who seemed to HATE offense).

I have not seen enough of Sanchez to be convinced that HE is the guy -- but I have no problem with what they gave up if they are convinced.

USC runs a pro-style offense...nothing about it is gimmicky.

You can't knock this kid for playing at one of the best school's in the country. He got an offer from the Trojans and just about every other school in the country because he was the #1 rated player at his position coming out of high school.

Where do you expect him to play, New Mexico State?

I don't agree with the assumption that Sanchez starts. I actually think there is no way he starts and i agree with this.
Like him or not Clemens is capable of holding down the fort, especially in the conservative offense everyone expects us to run.
There is no reason to throw this kid to the lions right off the bat.Flacco only started because of injuries to the 2 QB's ahead of him and Ryan because of the fact that the Falcons had nobody else as an option.
Sanchez's first season should be to become familiar with the transition to the NFL and the speed of the game by watching and learning.
