Some interesting quotes from Rex's presser (from twitter)

Leonhard's injury made Pool learn the defense. - maybe this is why we've seen better play from him?

On Brady's sideline shouting - "he does it so much he's mastered it"

Cromartie on Brady - "I hope he throws the ball my way 10 times"

If Revis had said this, I would love it.

But I can see Cro getting picked apart by Brady all night long.

Rex needs to give him as much help over the top as he can. He's just too damn lanky to stick with these shifty receivers...

Sooo...he didn't find it fit to learn the defense the other 7 or so months he's been on the roster? That seems a bit odd.

IF Brady is looking for Cro...he's not looking for Coleman.

    31 > 30.

All this talk from Cro has got me nervous. With his skill set and the type of WRs the Pats have, I don't know if I would be calling out Tom Brady.

Pool likely didn't have to learn the calls and such. They had Leonard and smith ahead of him on DC. Once they went down, they had to let Pool and likely Lowery a course on being the guys to make the calls back there.

While I agree I also think he's talked so much he now HAS to back it up... and since the biggest knock on Cro isn't his ability but his willingness to be physical with the WR... could it be maybe this is the time he shows us what he is really capable of doing?

If Leonhard and Pool can be our long term solid starting safeties that'd be huge for us because this year imo it's been our biggest weakness.

Brady's not stupid, he'll throw to the open receiver, no matter who is covering them. I'm sure he'd rather have a win than worry about trying to throw for 150 yards on Cromartie. I don't think Cromartie is smart enough to be playing mind games, he's just running his mouth.

I'm extremely confident heading into this matchup having both Revis & Cro on our D. It's a good problem to have.

#24 & #31 can impact this game in major ways.

For example, if Revis can shut down Welker, & Cro can lock down Branch; that pretty much leaves Brady with only 2 or 3 offensive weapons on any given play when either going 3 wide/1 back, 4 wide, 5 spread, or 4 wide/1 back.

If Revis can limit Welker to 4 catches, for around 40 yards, 0 TD's; I'll consider Welker shut down.

If Cromartie can hold Branch to about 6 catches for around 70 yards, 0 TD's; I'll consider Branch to have been contained.

If Revis & Cro can hold both Welker & Branch, with Brady under center, to around 10 catches, 110 yards, 0 TD's combined... I'll consider that a huge victory for our defense.

Welker has always been Bradys favorite target, and Branch has always been clutch.

We would then force Brady to beat us with two rookie TE's in Hernandez & Gronkowski, Green-Ellis (above average back) & Woodhead; who may not be 100%

Then he'll just toss balls to them over Pace, Thomas, and whoever is playing safety at the time.

I'm also not the least bit worried about Tom Brady picking on, or picking apart Cromartie on Sunday; it's not gonna happen.

Cromartie has a deep hatred for both BB and Tom Brady. We all know Cro has played soft in the past, but he's playing with a fire and hatred this Sunday. Cro said it himself, he's looking to beat the living sh*t out of any WR in his way on Sunday; I love it.

Cro is an extremely gifted athlete, who's been blessed with elite talent. He runs into problems and can struggle when asked to either play off or zone coverage, but it's also no secret that Cromartie is known as one of the best man to man cover corners around. This Sunday? He's locking down in man to man coverage.

Wrong. When the Pats have Welker, Branch, Hernandez and Gronkowski on the field, at the same time, we'll be in dime coverage, which means... Pace and Thomas won't be on the field. Our OLB's will be replaced by Kyle Wilson and either Lowery or Cole. That may force the Pats to rush the football, they'll have the advantage while doing so, but thats a win for the Jets defense if you ask me.

If, and I mean if Revis and Cro can have their ways against Welker and Branch one on one, I love our chances of having Wilson, Lowery, Smith and Pool going up against two rookies in Gronkowski and Hernandez. Lets not act like these two guys are Antonio Gates and Tony Gonzalez.

Are you serious? You want to run Dime vs a 2 WR set? The Pats will run all over that. This isn't the Colts, the Pats can actually run the ball and they'll eat that up all day long.

no they wont.. but if they do we will be at a disadvantage beacuse that is not their style.

Im pretty sure that the Dbs we have can tackle BJE and woodhead. Your acting like they have jerome bettis or a monster running back that requires a line man to bring down.
