"According to the Newark Star-Ledger, Ravens defensive boss Rex Ryan has emerged as the new front runner to be the Jets' next head coach.

The Star-Ledger had Jets OC Brian Schottenheimer as the favorite a week ago and he remains a contender. However, Ryan reportedly met with Jets brass for five hours Sunday and the sides "hit it off in a big way." The Jets could keep Schotteneheimer in place if they hired Ryan. New York would also not have to tweak its defense much because Ryan can run a 3-4 scheme."

seems like a good fit especially with the fact that he can keep the 3-4 personnel we spent 3 yrs building, altho i hope he cleans house on the offensive side of the ball and does stick with the current offensive regime

I tend to go with Hutch more then I do Cimini. I LOVE Ryan and I think he's the guy for the job. Those that want Schottenheimer as the coach still can have their cake and eat it too as he will probably be left on as the offensive coordinator. I think there is some creedance to the argument that after the first year Shott had to taylor some of his philosophy to Daboll and the way Mangini wanted things, and then last year the main gripe I had was not getting Leon the ball as much as he shouldve had it.

I could be sold on Ryan as the HC and Schott as the OC. I'm curiouse to here how the Harbaugh interview went.

I do not support Brian Schottenheimer in the least. I do not know what everyone sees in him.
