Well that's really not an issue if you had to pick between the 2. Charlie Weis is definitely better.

The problem is he is unlikely to leave his cushy job at Florida and head back to the NFL.

    $$$$$ Talks.

Woody Johnson has a 50 mil $ QB, going down the shitter. He could triple Weis salary, and feel good about it.

One of the way you get there, is to succeed at a higher level.

exactly. no way he comes back to the pros midway through a season after just leaving KC, especially to this shitshow on offense we have going on.

Weis has already done that, man. He has nothing to prove as an offensive coordinator.

I have a feeling he wants to take over at South Carolina when Spurrier hangs 'em up.

I've said this a few times.

Not happening. He went to Gainesville for his family. His son goes to school at UF and his wife has a horse ranch out in Ocala. He turned down more money to coach college and be by his family.

One of my professors (at UF)was talking about it when he first got hired and then I later heard one of the announcers during the FAU game say the same thing.

Pretty much this. And given all of this, even if he were to consider coming back into the pro ranks, I can't help but feel he wouldn't come to the Jets anyway, though I could see him going back to NE.

Can you just picture Rex Ryan and Charlie Weis bellying up to each other for a conference on the sidelines? They'd be talking from like four feet apart holding the play charts up so the other side couldn't lip read. It'd be hysterical to watch.

I vote for the change just to get a chance to see that.

Oh yeah, and because Charlie Weis has more offensive talent in his pudgy little pinky than Brian Schottenheimer will accumulate in a lifetime.

BTW, Charlie Weis is not going to take this job any more than Carson Palmer is going to come out of his self-imposed exile to QB the Jets, and for the same reason: you can't create a good offensive game plan with a crappy offensive line and if Mangold or Ferguson goes down the Jets have the worst offensive line in the NFL.

Neither of those guys is going to put himself on the line with the mess that we've got up front right now.

Anyone could say that same thing the last three years. "if" our all pro center or LT got injured (which hadnt happened in their entire careers until a few weeks ago)

"if" <xyz elite> quarterback gets hurt, the team is gonna be the worst offense in the NFL.

Not sure how he attempts to reinforce his argument with "if"

All this stuff about the offensive line is starting to annoy me.

Do we have no depth with turner out? Yes, that's a huge blow. But our current starters who have been predominately healthy throughout their careers are 4/5ths of last years line which was considered one of the best in the NFL. The only starter we replaced was an aging veteran on the decline. Remember how many times we said last year in pass protection "man, woody is getting killed." especially early in the season.

The loss of mangold and the slow start by hunter were temporary issues. In the pats game they played back to or at least close to the standard of last year.

How quickly people forget, when Charlie was our OC he was stripped of playcalling duties by Bill Parcells.
