Per source: Brian Costello Twitter: "Ryan Spadola will not be coming back to the Jets. He has decided to join the practice squad of another AFC East team, per source. #nyj" Sad to hear, especially since that other AFC East team is probably the same team we will be seeing in 2 weeks, and I would not be surprised to see Spadola get a TD against us.
I would be very surprised if he even played. Spadola is your typical training camp hero. Jets fans always fall in love with them and then are shocked out of their minds when no other team signs them or they never play. He's joining a practice squad, not the active roster. But yeah I'm sure he'll be scoring TDs against us within a couple weeks
omg, its danny woodhead all over again. fucking jets letting all the good players go, how can they keep gates and let this future h.o.f. go? belicheck and brady will turn him into the next randy moss. fuck we are doomed s.o.j. //overeaction to a jag getting cut
I hear he has signed with us ... He seems like our former training camp hero during Hard Knocks, Mr. 7-11 Chris Hogan who plays with buffalo now
Falcons fans were over at their thread raging about Walls and how their team let him go, if Spadola comes up big for the Pats, I will hold you to your statement, he has potential.
I have watched you guys debate him a lot, although I haven't seen him play ... I'm interested to see where he goes - if anywhere
Like I said when he was cut. I'm not going to sweat over the cutting of some UDFA. I don't care how good he looked in the preseason against 3rd stringers. There is a long list of guys who have big preseasons who never amount to anything. Spadola has a better chance of being out of the league in 2 years then he does of still being in it.
He had potential I hope this move doesn't bite us in the ass. I felt that he just needed time to develop and wasn't gonna make an immediate impact. I hope David Nelson was worth cutting him.
I saw Nelson in the game against the Falcons. Looked good and was moving smoothly. He also looked tough in blocking. Looks like a good pickup if he stays healthy (always a big if)
Nelson was a rookie in 2010 when he caught 35 passes, then caught 61 passes the following year. I think he was hurt most of 2012 and for some reason the Bills didn't tender him a contract, then was cut by the Browns this year until we signed him. He seems to be a very decent player, and adds very good depth to our WR core.
Rex obviously was serious when he said WR's have to catch the ball. Spadola's last significant action on offense was the drop against the Pats and now he's gone.
