Well it's certainly no big secret, outside of some delusional Jets fans, Fields is atrocious, he's a RB who can't hold on to the ball, playing QB

In all fairness, if we started Taylor maybe we win one game instead? We know what he is. The most concerning thing is fresh slate, last chance for Fields and he has just regressed.

I believe we win yesterday with Taylor and the Miami game as well. 2-4 right now with still a pulse and easy games on the docket

If he continues to start JF, he will lose the team. I think that has started already

Oh man. This sucks. What it does is place AG into a no-win situation. If he pulls the trigger on a QB change right now, the Fields backers feel like AG is giving in to leaks and noise from within the locker room - something a coach can't do. If he stays with Fields to keep control of the situation, we'll keep losing and keep sucking, and AG's gone.
Ideally AG would have pulled the trigger before this sort of leak happened (but that's water under the bridge). The other possibility is that AG sticks with Fields and Fields actually plays well and wins. I have no hope of that either.

We're in for a bumpy ride.

This feels so familiar. A coach sticking with a QB while players and everyone else knows a change is needed... Great memories of Saleh sticking with ZW too long, Rex Ryan saying "Mark Sanchez gives us the best chance to win" as it was all crumbling down around them. Here we go again.

If your QB is lost out there, you're not doing anybody (Fields included) any favors by forcing him out there. Sometimes a QB playing poorly needs time and a reset.

There's no doubt in my mind that the Jets win if TT comes in.

Definitely we win yesterday with Tyrod. I am not sure if we win another game though, including Miami. Tyrod basically did the same thing as Fields for the most part against Tampa. Wasn't great for 3 quarters, then turned it on in the 4th with the game seemingly out of reach. We got historic play from MCD, but then the defense lost anyway. Except Tyrod also gifted Tampa 7 points, which could also be looked at as the difference. So, we are probably in very similar boat with Fields or Tyrod for the 1st 6 games mainly because of the defense, TOs, and Penalties.

However, Fields reached a new low now, where he looked worse than most folks would have been who were getting wasted at the pre game tailgate. Tyrod is the right choice going forward to win, assuming defense, TO, and penalty problems can remain under control like in the last game. I suspect based on AG's presser that Fields starts and if he shows similar performance as he did last time he will be benched before second half. Similar to Zach against Jags a couple of years back.

True and good read on it. However I can’t see anyone in that locker room backing Fields as the starter after yesterday.

You can ride with the kid if he’s a top draft pick in his rookie year or first ten or so starts and chalk it up to growing pains. He’s a 5 year veteran mercenary QB that the franchise has no allegiance to.

Fields just turned in a historically bad performance. Probably one of the worst in NFL history and did it with some of the best protection in the league in terms of time to throw yesterday. That was Jimmy Clausen-Bears punting on every possession against the Seahawks bad. And they still had more net passing yards and total yards (https://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/201509270sea.htm).

the thing is Fields was "historically bad" against Buffalo as well. and it was "his worst game as a pro" , well now he's done that twice. and its not even midseason

Yeah but veterans can be popular too. You work out with others week in and week out and you're going to have some friends. I am half expecting the pro-Fields leaks to come out now - "Jets don't have protection", "not enough weapons", "Fields wasn't to blame, the defense is the problem"....

They are building the foundation. That means securing #1 overall pick.

I agree. How else to explain taking a timeout to line up a fake punt at midfield so you can run out the clock?

There is absolutely no denying he holds the ball way beyond what is remotely acceptable, he was the cause, along with AG for compounding the problem and not kick the field goal. The two cost us thr game. No one else

Players griping? Gee, I wonder if it was any of the guys that spent all day running 30-yard wind sprints with no payoff.

If by multiple, do they mean the other 52 guys on the roster?

Sad to think that after the Steelers game, I told everyone around me "Shame we lost. I think that was the best game we'll ever see from Justin Fields". So so true...
