Probably an unpopular opinion, but this is probably what should have happened from day one. Zach is the future. Zach didn't appear ready to start and it would have benefited him to watch a seasoned veteran play. Hell, Flacco even won a Super Bowl. Wilson isn't going to learn watching a guy who has less playing experience than he does. Not saying this is the best possible scenario, but it's probably the right one for now, especially if Wilson isn't 100%.
How many different ways can a person say no? Mike White sucks and there are other players on the offense that need developing besides the QB position. Starting Mike White would just confirm what we already know about him. He's an okay spot starter that will need a strong run game to cover up for the lack of arm talent. He can't push the ball downfield. If he played Sunday it will end up in another 4 INT game.
Starting him in my dynasty league; 2 WR spots and 4 flex spots in a full PPR. Moore will go for 20 pts this week. I actually think the Jets offense will have a solid day with Flacco at QB. I'd much rather watch the offense move the ball and the young players play well than force Mike White out there and have the O struggle all day.
Well that's kinda weird considering Flacco started just last year against this same Miami team. Jets lost 24-0 and didn't move the football all day maybe he found the fountain of youth though
The Mike White experiment was fun when he threw for 400 yards, but we saw what happens when the underneath stuff gets taken away.
I agree. There's no sense in starting Zach if he isn't 100% and risking turning the knee into a chronic problem. They brought in Flacco for a reason. He can throw long. Mims and Flacco clicked last season, hopefully, he'll get Mims back on track.
Okay. How would Mike White have faired against Cincinnati with Adam Gase calling the shots? No chance he throws for 400+ yards; I'd imagine it would look eerily similar to how Luke Falk did. The Jets offensive system last year was dogwater, can't compare it to this.
Saleh basically desperate to win now. My question is will Wilson even suit up as 2nd or 3rd string? This is really feeling like Sam's mystery foot injury in his rookie year.
I respectfully disagree. The Jets already know that he can be a decent backup. They (as well as every team in the NFL) knows that White isn't accurate past 15-20 yards. Flacco gives them a better chance to win, and he will mix in long and intermediate passes, and Zach can learn more from watching him than watching White.
