with being able to get get a player like marshall and still keep a first round pick and as high as 11 it would be a complete steal for tampa. id pull that trigger in a heartbeat
Now all Tampa needs is a QB, a RB, an OLine, a DLine, a TE, some LBs, a couple of corners, some safeties, a kicker...
Eh. The trade seems to make a ton of sense for the Bucs. The Broncos confuse me, though. They're in prime position to draft a defensive stud at 11 regardless. I'd so much prefer a team at the tail end of the first to yield their pick then to package Marshall for any one player. Their GM hasn't impressed me as of late.
They're both going to suck still. The draft won't help either team. Berry will make that DEN defense very good, but then the offense is going to suffer. Marshall will be a big problem down in Tampa where there is no QB, winning, or discipline by Morris. ... Schadenfreude
Basically, the Broncos are getting the equivalence of the #17 pick in the draft for Marshall. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/draft06/news/story?id=2410670
those were stupid rumors to begin with. the right insiders said that Tanny "asked" about it and it never "had legs" I had to listen to the morons in class discuss it like it would help the Jets. I love sitting there knowing that I have the right opinion, but if I chose to share it, I'd get labeled as a douche know it all.... so i guess it'd be the same away from here
Reading about it here pissed me off so much. Marshall is a ticking bomb waiting to explode, no way I get rid of Cotchery for that BS
That is a crazy trade. I'm surprised they wouldn't stay at #3 since the Lions acquired Corey Williams allowing them to take Okung to protect Stafford. Suh and McCoy now have a high probability of falling to them and defensive tackle is much more important then WR. Especially Marshall going there is a terrible situation because hes going to be pissed off. They desperately need help at DT, but then again, they desperately need a team, coaching staff, cheerleaders, NY Style delis and pizza, etc. Also they are gonna suck next year and will have a high draft choice again except the 2011 draft is top heavy with elite potential WRs coming out to fill that need. Getting Marshall isn't going to make them good or put them over the top. FAILED
I don't think Cotch was going over there, unless a report said that and I missed it. But it would have been for a bunch of players and low round picks.
Depends a lot on what the other picks are involved, but I like it for Denver, #3 probably gets them either Suh or McCoy. And an impact player on the D-line is what that team could use most.
The 'report' was a tidbit about "That's how the Jets feel about cotchery" which sparked these gems That's what pissed me off. Theres more in the Brandon Marshall thread, Sorry for hijacking this one. By Tom Cruises sack head, I would never give up J-Co for Marshall.
