Maybe Geno learns a thing or two about taking care of your teammates from this example between Fitz and Owusu and what leadership and respect is all about. Sometimes all it takes is a little gesture. Works in real life, too, I heard. http://nypost.com/2015/09/18/idziks-rare-jets-gift-defiant-wr-who-beat-every-red-flag/ “The first I’d ever heard of Chris was when I got traded here and they said, ‘Some guy named Chris Owusu has No. 14,’ ’’ Fitzpatrick said of his preferred jersey number. “So I texted Chris and he was nice enough to give me the number.’’ Owusu gave Fitzpatrick his number and now Fitzpatrick is calling Owusu. “He’s a guy I really look to, and after having a few catches last game, I think his confidence is just going to grow,’’ Fitzpatrick said. “I have a lot of respect for him,” Decker said. “His game and the path that got him to where he is now. “It’s been awesome to see a guy that keeps grinding and grinding and finally the light shines and he gets his fair chance.’
Really? I guess when you hate someone you look for dumb shit like this. I guess Revis is no leader he didn't text him.
The looks like the team has some great character guys. It may or may not help in the win column, but it makes one feel better about being a fan of the Jets.
It's funny how the only two people that didn't bother reading the story or even commenting on the subject rather talk about how the world has consipred against their God. There's one thing you and Geno have in common: grow up. And accusing people who point out the obvious that they must hate Geno is just as immature. But again, very Geno like.
Great article, Geno angle is completely forced by you though. Big fan of Owusu. The article title kind of says it all. He could be a rare Jet gift. We never have any stories like this while it seems like every other team does. I'm not saying he's going to be Victor Cruz, but if he can stay healthy he's going to be an impact player for us.
Owusu is a really good kid and I hope he can hold off the concussion monster long enough to have a productive career.
Because this is what a team is all about. A little nice gesture goes a long way. Geno had a perfect opportunity to step up as a leader instead of acting like an asshat and botching this whole thing that quite possibly ended his career as a Jet.
There was plenty of camaraderie under Rex. We would always read stories of how players would hang out away from the facility. Didn't really help. On field chemistry is the only thing that matters.
I don't know if this has been posted yet but it's a cool article about how Fitzpatrick keeps his receivers on their toes even when they're not at the facility. Decker compares his preparation to Peyton's. Cool stuff. http://m.nydailynews.com/sports/foo...rick-hit-mark-jet-receivers-article-1.2365346
