New prediction: by late August, entire three-game series threads will consist of fewer than 5 posts. This is what baseball season has become.
Lol the look on Santana's face was priceless after the game. The look that "I better throw a no hitter so I can at least get a no-decision". It's pathetic what this team has become.
I feel for you guys when you can't beat my Reds -- or Arroyo, for that matter. I thought it would be more of a game. Maybe we'll see some decent pitching tonight.
Mets playing very well and up big early. Dick Pole just went out to the mound and there's still no one up in the bullpen for Cincinnati, oddly enough. Dusty Baker not thinking again.
Mets do their best to try to blow it, but come up just short and win. What I found most interesting in the game was that after Rodriguez ended the game with a strikeout (after pitching poorly, of course), he had no reaction - not only didn't he do his usual histrionics, he didn't even look happy. This team doesn't look like they really believe any more, even after a game where they score 9 runs.
I noticed that, too. I was at the gym and did a small fist pump that I abruptly ended when I saw Frankie do absolutely nothing. Even the team feels depressed after it wins. Fuck it. Football season is coming soon.
