I'm gonna go with 6.5, but I'm tempted to suggest 8. Any of you drafniks know the most OL taken in the first round in NFL draft history?
im guessing 6 at most 7, when about 5 are off the board teams will also go for skill players who slipped because of the amount of OL taken. then thatll slip 1 or 2 to the bottom end of the round where they become value picks. so long story short, 6/7 very talented group this year.
J.Smith, E.Monroe, A.Smith, M.Oher, E.Britton, W.Beatty and Pittsburgh choosing between either D.Robinson, M.Unger or A.Mack 7 total
There were 8 last year, which was huge. I believe the most, though, is 10 in 1968. I didn't go back any further than 1966. That was the first year of the NFL and AFL holding their drafts together, and with only 16 teams in the league, it's unlikely there would be a year with more than 10 OL taken in the first. As far as this year, I'd guess 5 tackles in the first round. 6 OL if Alex Mack somehow slips in there. I think we'll see more DL than OL, as usual.
William Beatty is a problemmmmmm. Abolsutely disgusting. I enjoyed walking by the practice field and seeing him run block. I would draft him. Seriously. With our 1st round pick, and replace Woody. Woody is not worth his contract. Moore deserves more.
