Since Schottemier's offense is based around passing to TE and RB what are some good receiving runningbacks for next year? And are there any good tightends available next year?

We have a good receiving RB in Derrick Blaylock.

Honestly, I don't think Shott can run a carbon copy of the "O" in S.D. What they have now is public knowledge. Not so much no potential, but more of we have no clue of what we have. You would be safer betting against them then for em. Not that I bet or anything. If I had to put a percentage of success for the offense with what the Jets have now I would say Shotty's offense has a 40% chance of working sooner than later. But everybody knows that.

There is no prolific TE or RB here. L.T. and Gates are breakaway guys. L.T.-339 rushes for 1462 yds and 18 TD's / Gates- 89 catches for 1101 yds and 10 TD's. L.T. accounted for 33% of the offensive yards while Gates 20%. It may not seem a lot but, as far as TD percentage goes L.T. was at 45% and Gates at 20% of the total TD production. That's 65%! They were playmakers who could score almost everytime they touched the ball. And they still had a hard time scoring against good teams. Which is not unusal in itself but even with the quick strike capability nothing is garaunteed.

He will have to get creative with his playmakers or lack there of. What will he do when he has to grind games out week after week? Though I would have to say that the Chargers as a whole, when they lost, didn't lose by much. All their losses were low scoring games as well, which speaks volumes about their defense. So he has seen games go to the wire but does he have the deterents for oppossing "D's" to think twice before they bring the house?

The ball will have to be spread around all over. Everybody is going to have to step up. Overachieve if you will. If our QB can get time in the pocket we might be able to stay in the game depending on how our "D" performs. I'm curious to see if we have any run game at all?

I'm not doomin and gloomin here but my point of all this hoobash is that I dont think we can depend on rookie RB's to carry the offense and that Shotty will have to find different ways to win until he gets playmakers like S.D. has to play like them. In reality Martin will have to play out of his mind and hopefully Mangini creates enough competative spirit week in and out for the supporting cast of RB's to fight for playing time. Baker will be healthy but can he keep it up all season? And our recievers Coles and McCareins will have to play way better than they have. Despite the QB issues; 5 and 2 TD's total?! Our QB, whoever it may be better have time to throw to improve those paltry numbers.

But to answer the question of who might be players with potential? If I had a gun to my head and I needed to give an answer I would have to say maybe Cedric, Martin, Baker and Coles and the QB that rises up to deliver.

Doug Jolley is a good receiving TE...bad blocker, but a good receiver. He needs more looks...we rarely threw the ball to him.

They barely threw the ball to him and he still got his personal best recepts

Thats not true at all...It was his 2nd best yardage season and only his 3rd best season as far as receptions goes. You posted a completely incorect statement.
