For those of u hoping for a rb....watch the vt clemson game on espn2.. Clemson's runningback is amazing he is so fast
What about that kid from WV? Slayton is his name? He's really fast but then again, we already have fast. We need BIG and fast to compliment.
James Davis is the first guy and C.J. Spiller (true freshman) is the other. Spiller is another one of the guys from here in the Jacksonville area (Union County). I was @ JU when he ran consecutive 4.28's..... James Davis is a bruising guy with good speed, while Spiller is more of a finesse player with blazing speed. If you want to look at another collegiate running back that is a freak of nature but happens to be in a crappy offense without a running game: Antone Smith of FSU is your guy. If there ever were a guy that I would blasphemously compare to Leon as a high school player, Antone Smith is the one. Trust me when I tell you all, he will be one of the best running backs in the country if FSU can ever run the ball again. Just like Leon before him, FSU's offense was the biggest reason that Leon did not have the success that his talent dictated in his senior year. Smith is still one of the fastest players at FSU; he is also the strongest pound for pound (benched 380 lbs as a true fresman, now over 400 as a true sophomore!). More importantly, he ran a 4.38 electric time, which would probably be 4.27 or so with the hand clock. In his senior season in high school, he had over 2,800 yards rusghing and 44 TD's. This guy is GREAT! Just keep an eye out for him. By the way, he's 5'9" 190 lbs of solid muscle.
Depending on how the rest of the season plays out I would want to spend our top picks on d-liners and a good outside lb
Gaines Adams, DE for Clemson. that guy is a beast and i'd love to see us take him to replace Kimo and Robertson (if he moves to DE). he may be a bit undersized, but he's 6'5 265. perhaps a bit underweight for 3-4 DE, but good height and maybe he can bulk up. cheers
Yeah those RBs sure looked good tonight.... :rofl2: The Hokies walloped them. Brandon Ore is the real prospect. He is the complete package. I remember last year we had Mike Imoh and Cedric Humes. Imoh was very quick and shifty but too small to be a straight ahead runner. Humes was a good between the tackles runner but didn't have the burst or the wiggle to get outside. Ore is the combination of the two. He can bounce it outside for a big game or hit the hole for the tough yards. Just as likely to plow his shoulder into a defender as he is to juke around him.
