Let's hope Girardi continues to use his bullpen the way he did the first series. Getting everyone into the game to pitch and not showing favoritism to anyone before Joba and Mo is refreshing.
Seriously. I almost fainted last night when Bruney was coming in and Kay said that, at that point, every Yankees bullpen pitcher had seen regular season action.
Ugh, thanks for ruining my day. Anyway, it's still good to see everyone getting an opportunity to throw, and no favorites being picked.
I don't think so. I think Giambi is going to play 5 days a week, and should. Just wait till Posada reenters the lineup. This team has a lot of RBI potential when healthy.
I have to admit, this even gave me a belly laugh. Check out the girl's name. http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/pgStory?contentId=7986464#sport=MLB&photo=7986456
It's been gray and cloudy all day but the rain stopped about 9 this morning. Looks like it should be a go as of now.
It stopped raining. Everything looks clear. http://www.weather.com/weather/map/..., NY Forecast&name=index_large_animated&day=1
YANKEES Damon CF Jeter SS Abreu RF Rodriguez 3B Giambi 1B Cano 2B Posada C Matsui LF Betemit DH Kennedy RHP Notes: Thanks to Kevin Devaney for texting this in. He also reports that Melky Cabrera had his hearing today and had his suspension reduced to two games. So he will sit today and tomorrow. … Neither Betemit or Duncan have faced Andy Sonnanstine, so Betemit gets the call because he switch hits. I believe Shelley’s hearing is Monday.
New lineup Damon CF Jeter SS Abreu RF A-Rod 3B Giambi 1B Cano 2B Posada DH Matsui LF Molina C Rob Thompson is the acting manager. Girardi is sick with the flu and will be in his office.
Kennedy wasn't getting many calls at all... but if you don't throw strikes consistently, you're not going to get those calls. Christ almighty, that was a shitty outing. Command is supposed to be his strong suit. Sheesh.
He did not pitch well at all. His control was poor the whole outing. I'm pretty sure I mentioned this here last year, but I'll say it again. He reminds me a lot of Moose. For me, the jury is still out on the kid, and that has a lot to do with all the hype he's been given, but he scares me. I like him, and I still have faith he'll be a top-tier pitcher, but so far, in what I've seen of him, I'm not as excited as I'd like to be. On a good note, until Sonnenstein just retired 7 in a row, the Yanks looked like their bats were starting to come back to life.
