http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=09000d5d80ec4933&template=with-video-with-comments&confirm=true interesting... does he follow his DC... If healthy he is a great depth CB. He is not the man he used to be at all, oh no.
Well at least he would be big upgrade to Dwight Lowery. McCallister has defintely lost a couple steps, but still probably faster than Lowery.
Eric loved Poteat because he's a solid veteran nickel cornerback. He always got the job done and even made some big plays occasionally, I hope we resign him. Where Eric went wrong was playing Lowery too much, hopefully Rex will right that ship.
Drew Coleman should go before Poteat. I've seen Poteat make some plays in his time here, D Coleman is quite possibly the worst DB in pro football. I'm wondering if McAlister is one of those CBs who would benefit from a move to safety at this stage in his career.
I would definitely like McCallister as CB depth. We wouldn't need to count on him as a #1 or maybe even a #2 eventually if we draft a CB early. An eventual move to safety could be in the cards as well, which would work in tandem if we draft a guy like Sean Smith who can play both S and CB.
more importantly, this looks like this is a move so they can retain both Suggs and Lewis, hoepfully, we can get Leonhard or Scott, but i wouldnt be opposed to getting Mccallister
