Lee could be boom or bust, just because of his size. B

Hackenberg has some potential, but will bust if they don't give him time to learn... C+

Jenkins was a great pick IMO. A+

    Burris doesn't excite C

Trading up for Shell is a head scratcher. C

    Don't know the punter (inc)

Peake has upside, but was pretty inconsistent in college B-

    Overall C

Overall we get a C/C+ We missed a lot of opportunities to get OL help or trade back and so I had to ding some of the picks gardes due to opportunity cost. OLB has improved and we drafted a punter but I can't really see anyone else contributing. At least not right away

    Darron Lee ILB Grade A-

    Christian Hackenberg QB Grade D

    Jordon Jenkins OLB Grade A

    Justin Burris CB Grade C

    Brandon Shell OT -Grade F

    Lachland Edwards PT Grade B

    Charone Peake WR Grade A

PT for punter? Did you think we'd be confused by P?

    Solid B from me.

Based on the videos I watched with comments from Coach and Mac, they got the players they targeted months ago.
It's very rare the draft pans out this way, so this was a home run draft for the FO.

-Very excited with the two LBs.
-Peake seems to have fallen to the 7th for some unknown reason.
-Really warmed up to Hackenberg, really hope this is the guy.

My guess is the FO will address the OL next season.
They are probably banking on Amaro and Sudfeld for TE production for '16.

I had to watch some Hackenberg clippage after everyone here threw a shit fit.

I don't quite get what the problem is.

    Looks ok to me.

Well the good news is that Hackenberg's football IQ is exceptionally high. The bad news is that Hack's fundamentals are all f*cked up from his recent coaching staff and also as a result of becoming squeamish from getting blasted by defenders.

I'm of the mindset that football IQ is more difficult to instill than sound fundamentals. Hoping Gailey and Co. can get his footwork corrected and also get him releasing the ball quicker. If Hack responds well to coaching he could be a franchise type player for the Jets.

Unfortunately, this may take 1-2 seasons before we even start to pan this out.

Not going to bother, anyone who thinks he knows how this class will pan out is fooling himself.

Darron Lee ILB ( C-) maybe the dart board only had defenders on it? Should have got Lynch.

Christian Hackenberg QB (C-) Needed an OL.

Jordon Jenkins OLB (B) We needed outside LB.

Juston Burris CB (F) I mean wtf? We have plenty of DB's.

Brandon Shell OT (B-) We needed an OL.

Lachland Edwards P (A) He is not Quigley.

Charone Peake WR (A) We got a WR.

C- grade overall because we screwed the pooch in the first two rounds and we lost next year's 4th round pick playing catch up. o_O

Go ahead and fool yourself. You can always come back later and brag you were right or make fun of being wrong.

I will give it a B- (would have been a B if Peake was taken before the punter but what a stupid risk they took - they really could have taken Peake in round four or five instead of the guys we took there). Also would have taken Scooby Wright III instead of the punter (and tried to get him as a free agent instead of burning draft pick).

Lee and Jenkins were decent picks. Hackenburg was a reach. I liked that we took CB and OL where we did but don't know why we didn't take other guys at those positions.

Most of out picks in the last two years seem to fit our needs so I am not convinced that our front office is really serious about BPA.

I just hope I am wrong and our scouts are awesome at finding unpolished gems in the draft.

Just because you have no clue does not mean that talent evaluation is impossible for anyone who bothers to do some homework.

The Hackenberg pick made me sour on this draft. Outside of him I give it a B. But with him in there its a C.

Even if he turns into something decent , its an over payment in the 2nd round and there's no chance he helps us immediately.

So in the end not terrible. I like some of the picks but love none of em.

I'm more concerned with his weird wind-up than his footwork.

    Marino he ain't.

whew....Thought I would get blasted here but I am happy to observe others feel the same as I do

Sorry, but this is a drop off from last year, maybe because we started at pick 6

Hope for the best prepare for the worst lol

It seems like you believe your evaluation is correct. Let's check this thread in a couple years to see how you did. Unfortunately I didn't join this forum until recently, so I don't know your track record from previous years. (My point is that even the professionals, who have spend years evaluating talent full-time, don't do a very good job. So why should you or I, as fans, believe we can do better?)
