I had a draft last saturday and have 2 drafts this saturday, so I'm hoping you guys can tell me where i can improve in each team and how i did. QB - Drew Brees, NO QB RB - Ryan Grant, GB RB RB - Derrick Ward, TB RB RB/WR - Jonathan Stewart, CAR RB WR - Larry Fitzgerald, ARI WR WR - Wes Welker, NE WR TE - Dustin Keller, NYJ TE D/ST - Vikings D/ST, MIN D/ST (Hopefully Percy Harvin can return some kicks for TDs) K - David Akers PHI K Bench Lee Evans, Buf WR Knowshon Moreno, Den RB Donald Driver, GB WR Julius Jones, Sea RB Kevin Boss, NYG TE Panthers D/ST, Car D/ST Jason Campbell, Was QB EDIT: Damn, I definitely need some RB help...
I'm guessing this was a 10 team draft? Upgrade your backup RBs, but you may find Grant and Ward exceed their ranking. I have both of them on my team, albeit as my 3rd and 4th RBs behind MJD and Pierre Thomas. Other than that, I seriously hope this is PPR with Welker.
PPR 12 Team League: Receptions are 1pt QB Donovan McNabb RB Michael Turner RB Pierre Thomas FLEX Lee Evans WR Steve Smith (Carolina) WR Roddy White TE Owen Daniels DEF Panthers K Robbie Gould BENCH RB Ray Rice (Probably my Flex) WR Eddie Royal TE John Carlson QB David Garrard WR Chris Henry (My sleeper) RB Rashard Mendenhal Prolly trade Royal for a Decent RB .. what do you think?
How'd you land this team in a 12 team league? Nicely done on the starters. Yes, Ray Rice should probably be your Flex, even if the Baltimore situation is still somewhat unpredictable. You'll lose TDs to McClain (I'm not even sure Rice found the end zone last season), but Rice is solid in a PPR league. Lee Evans will do nothing but let you down, although he should benefit somewhat from the addition of TO to the receiving corps.
This seems to be the official thread for rating teams??? I don't wanna start my own so I'm just going to ask your opinions right here. Here are my starters in my 8 team league. QB: Tom Brady QB: Kurt Warner WR: Larry Fitzgerald WR: Calvin Johnson WR: Marques Colston RB: Maurice Jones-Drew RB: Steve Slaton TE: Zach Miller TE: Dustin Keller (or Brent Celek) QB/WR/RB: Matt Schaub K: Jason Elam DEF: Titans DEF: Vikings (or Jets)
Does anyone else in your league have a clue, what Fantasy Football is? This team is so damn good, it?s unreal.
I got lucky I guess? I was picking 3rd. The guy who picked 2nd Picked MJD so I couldnt pass on Turner. Im not too comfortable with my RB's though. I think I need a better Depth guy than Mendenhall. I am not that high on Pierre Thomas either. I only took Rice because during the Ravens-Jet game. I heard that he is outplaying McGayHee and Rice is their no.1 back right now in Baltimore.
 I know right? Well yeah everyone in my league is somebody I know personally and most of them are extremely knowledgable with the NFL and 1 or 2 of them follow it but not as hardcore as the rest of us. I honestly just got extremely good value each round in the draft. Brady, Fitz, Calvin were my first 3 picks. I had LT at first, which I traded for Westbrook, which I traded for MJD. (not straight up of course) My original team was: Brady Cutler Fitzgerald Calvin Johnson Vincent Jackson LT Slaton Keller Miller Shaub Elam Jets Titans So I didn't change a ton, but I just kept throwing out trades left and right I expected to get declined but a few got accepted and now I can't help but be cocky that I'm going to win.
If Steve Slaton lasted until the 4th round or beyond, nobody in that league is very knowledgeable. Ditto for the fact that you were somehow able to trade the above team into the team you now have. You have 3 Top 10 QBs, 3 Top 10 WRs, and 2 Top 10 RBs. My suspicion is that you're playing with people from the short bus.
 I know it seems pretty unbelievable but it's true. I wish there was a way I could direct you guys to the league. Can't wait to show them what you guys said hahah. This is going to be a fun fun season of fantasy football for me after an injury barred season last year. P.S. My league is very even for QB/WR/RB as far as points go. It's not one-sided towards QB or RB like most leagues.
You should be high on Pierre Thomas. Even if Reggie doesn't get hurt this season, Pierre will get a ton of carries. He even had a decent number of receptions. The only concern is that he's currently injured, but it's unlikely to keep him out long unless he aggravates it. I don't like Mendenhall, and I don't like the idea of going into a season with only 4 RBs, but I also think Eddie Royal is a great pick in a PPR league. He'll be utilized well. I'd try to trade Lee Evans. You'll likely get better value at the RB position for him, and even with TO, I don't think Evans will be THAT much of an improvement over Royal. Besides, you'll want to use Ray Rice in the Flex for most of the season.
Oh no, I believe you that you got that team. I just doubt the "extremely knowledgeable" label that you gave the rest of the members.
This is why I always turn down invitations to 10-team leagues. They're a joke. But good job on the team NYJATW.
I know for sure 2 of them are die-hard like me. Every other one watches nfl every sunday and knows all the players on the teams...so I'm not playing with 11 year olds or people who don't know Vick got signed by the Eagles  .. which I DO know people like that *shakes head*... Honestly I'm a good drafter, but I just had a very lucky draft. Calvin Johnson was the EIGTH WR taken, and I can't believe I got him. After the first few RB's were taken, the others lasted awhile because people wanted the QB's and one person wanted defenses early (monopoly reasons) and another likes TE's...idiots. & Thank you Rmagedon So you play on 12 team leagues? 14? P.S. Correction I'm playing on an 8 team league, not 10... don't know why I thought that. (Nevertheless I think my team is pretty dominant still.)
Ah. This explains so much. Nothing wrong with that, but if you want to find more of a challenge, join a 12-14 team league. It requires thinking and finding players to fill up weak positions from all the non-superstars, make-or-break, dark-horse players. That's what makes those leagues fun.
For the OP, Knowshon will be a legit ROTY candidate and will be Denver's feature back in no time. He'll be in your starting lineup early this year.
