This league is a bit different since the flex spot can be anything (QB, RB, WR, TE, DEF, or K) and most teams use the spot for a second QB even though passing TDs only count for 4 points. Of course this lead to a very early run at QB that I missed out on. How did I do and who do I trade to upgrade my QB spot? My team 1.02 RB Adrian Perterson 2.11 WR Andre Johnson 3.02 RB MJD 4.11 WR Marvin Harrison 5.02 TE Antonio Gates 6.11 RB Kevin Smith 7.02 WR Laverneous Coles 8.11 QB Kurt Warner 9.02 RB Chris Johnson 10.11 WR Roddy White 11.02 K Nick Folk 12.11 DEF Jacksonville Jaguars 13.02 RB Ahman Green 14.11 QB JT O'Sullivan Here is where the QBs were selected (and why I waited): 1.05 Tom Brady 1.08 Peyton Manning 2.01 Tony Romo 2.04 Drew Brees 3.01 Ben Rothlisberger 3.07 Donovan McNabb 4.01 Carson Palmer 4.03 Derek Anderson 4.10 Jay Cutler 5.03 Matt Hasselback 5.04 Eli Manning 5.09 Brett Favre 5.10 Marc Bulger 6.02 Jake Delhomme 6.05 Matt Schaub 6.07 David Gerrard 6.09 Jon Kitna 7.05 Jason Campbell 7.06 Phillip Rivers 7.10 Vince Young 8.02 Aaron Rodgers 8.11 Kurt Warner 9.07 Jeff Garcia 12.12 Matt Ryan 13.03 Trent Edwards 13.04 Tavaris Jackson 14.11 JT O'sullivan
there are 27 QBs listed -- which five (starting) were not drafted? My concern is K. Warner -- what happens in Leinart takes over (or they split) and someone picks up Leinart first? Your team looks pretty good (beyond this one concern). I don't think Harrison is in for a big year, which means you may be starting Coles or R. White (depending on how M. Ryan develops, both individually and with his number one WR).
Aside from Leinhart (hopefully not a starter), the current starters not drafted include: Pennington (Fish) Croyle (KC) Flacco (Baltimore) Orton (Chicago) J Russell (Oakland) I will see if I can use my bench to obtain a QB in a trade. Also, I will use the waiver wire if any starting QBs get hurt. Also, if older (and possibly injury prone) guys like Warner or Harrison get off to a strong start, I may try to trade them for younger guys.
First off, your team is money. Don't worry so much about weak QBs or trying to orchestrate a trade. Second, drop Tarvaris Jackson and pick up Pennington.
I would consider a roster spot for either Pennington or Russell. You said you play two QBs, right? You are starting off with one potential non-starter (or the unusual QB-by-committee approach -- who knows in the desert...) and one pre-season fluke (JT). Pennington now has something to prove. He may produce 3000+ and more TDs and than INTs. Russell is high risk, high reward. DMac may open the passing game, and J. Walker could shine once the beating heals.
Thanks, I had long list of sleepers that I passed up in the last couple rounds because of the four stud WRs on my roster. Far too many RBs and WRs slipped because of the huge reaches at the QB position. I was lucky to be at the front end of the 6 or 7 TE run in round five. Who do you guys think I should use as trade bait to get my QB?
