I think it's been well established that you need 0% evidence to ruin a man's credibility in the eyes of the general public. Not like we haven't seen this before. Just wait till the feminist nazis come storming in here claiming that we should all be more sensitive to obvious gold digging attempts.
Anybody who thinks rapes don't occur in these situations is just whistling by the graveyard. The question is whether or not Kerry Rhodes was a participant or not. And for anybody who wonders how this can happen: you obviously have not been at a bar late at night drinking. It would be easy for that tourist to be so smashed out of her gourd that she'd have gone home with any charming person sitting next to her. At that point figuring out what happened gets very murky. BTW, if this was a board full of girls instead of guys every person in this thread would be assuming that the rape had occurred, instead of finding ways to assume it didn't.

Thankfully, the court of law is not the court of public opinion. Innocent until proven guilty. We can assume anything we want; seeing it proven is an entirely different animal. And public opinion can change in a heartbeat. Just ask those Duke lacrosse boys and the lying whore that accused them.
Amen to that. It's a sad state of affairs for those that actually are exposed to the horrible offense that is rape, but in this day and age the victims and the accused need to go through the same level of scrutiny. Sadly, that's just how it is. And being a celebrity and having the contents of his bank account (or at least his contract) known to the general public makes Kerry Rhodes a target.

Bingo. You hit the nail on the head. We live in an Accuser society. Once the accusation is made (true or not true), it's hard to shed that scarlet letter because of the incessant media coverage and public opinion forums. Many on here already made a great point. If you're a woman and you leave the city and go on a 30-40 minute drive into the suburbs then you damn well know you're not going there to check out real estate in the middle of the night. I'm sure Rhodes will get out of this. It definitely sounds consensual and like some out of town (out of country) female tourists who came to NY and wanted to hit the big jackpot. The worst part of this is that the shadow of doubt has already been cast on Kerry. In this "point the finger, blame everyone else" society we now live in it is very hard to shed that tag once an accusation is made, even is the accusation is baseless.
