I like Coles, he's a good possession reciever. J-mac has lots of potent ional , but he hasn't lived up to it. I'm not sure about Cotchery, but from the little I have seen from him. He can be pretty good. Tim Dwight can be our speedster he can get big plays. Our receiving corps is not as hapless as some think, just lots of untapped potent ional, except for Coles and Dwight

    Coles
    Jmac
    Dwight
Cotchery (He would be higher based on his potential, but he hasn't had the experience or the playing time Dwight has had.)

potent ional? i know it's a typo, but you did it twice man.

J-mac is way beyond potential. At this point, he just plain sucks.

dwight is a pretty good wr at 3 or 4, and hopefully cotchery has his break out year (3rd year is usually big for wrs)...i still think we need to draft a wr in rd. 3 or 4 with big upside

    agreed...

we need someone to start over mccariens but idk if we're gonna address it this year, i dont want someone old like moulds and i dont want someone expensive and coming off an injury like walker and i dont think the jets do either, plus i dont see us drafting one in the first 2 rds... so for now we'll be ok with these guys and hopefully a decent rookie, i like our depth, i think cotchery can be a good 4 but need someone ahead of mccariens

Saying Jmac sucks is so stupid its beyond belief. Everyone on the board says it so don't feel bad.

Jmac was liked alot after the 2004 season.

After a 4-12 season Jets fans want to cut Jmac.

He was suffering from a calf injury all last season and because he played all year I give him major props.

McCareins still needs a QB who can throw it to him...

How many more passes does he need to drop before you change your mind? He is a #3 reciever at best.

He needs a QB to throw to him? How many times did Bollinger overthrow him last season on deep pass attempts? The guy simply does not know how to run through the ball...

Yeah. I think its super cool you didn't mention McCareins.

He had 43 receptions and over 700 yards receiving.

He averaged close to 17 yards per reception.

He had a calf injury most of the season.

He played with 5 different QB's on a 4-12 suck ass team.

But hey! Lets get rid of him!

Nobody complained about him dropping balls in 2004...why? Because he didn't have an issue with it.

He was overthrown on a ton of balls correct, but it was noted that he was unable to get deep effectively because of his calf injury.

He also dropped passes due to his inability to create separation (again because of his leg injury) and was getting decked every time he touched the ball..

that's so true man...he didn't have that burst last year to accelerate up to the ball on bombs...mccareins was an up and coming wr and flashed signs of a great wr with us in 2004, and all of a sudden he drops off that bad??? Obviously something was wrong with him (not to mention the rest of our o in disarray)...he'll be back this year you watch

I did. He was alright towards the end of that season, but for the first 1/2 of the season, he dropped everything thrown his way.

Where are you getting this information about an injured calf last season? This is the first time I'm hearing about it.

alright?? the last 1/2 of the season he was always coming up huge for us on important 3rd downs, etc....that san diego playoff game i remember him making a lot of tough grabs in traffic to keep our drives going

Mccareins def had a nagging calf injury last year...i heard it a bunch of times

yeah it's the spell check I was using, it sucks balls. As for J-Mac, if we can get a true number 2 reciever, I would like to see what J-Mac could do in the slot. Maybe he could recapture his form when he was with the Titans.

He dropped everything thrown his way in 2004 and still had over 700 yards...pretty good

the depth chart is pretty obvious, though i'd rather see McCareins in the slot because he's faster than Cotchery and would pose some problems (if he ever lives up to his potential) for Nickle Backs.

Cotchery has a ton of upside: though not very fast, he's a good route-runner for being so young, has a lot of strength and very good hands. furthermore - and i've said this time and time again - Cotchery broke many of Tory Holt's records at NC St. no, he's not the next Holt, but clearly, he's good.

at this point in their respective careers, i'd say Cotchery has more potential than McCareins.

so 2) Cotchery 3) McCareins 4) Dwight and 5) someone we draft in the later rounds.

    cheers
